OBJECTIVE: To discuss the resection of tumors, reconstruction of defects and the postoperative complications.

Conjoined twins are identical twins joined in utero and are a rare phenomenon. This report discusses a case of female thoraco-omphalo-ischiopagus tripus conjoined twins. The twins were separated at age two, and once medically stable, spent one month in inpatient rehabilitation to improve their sitting balance and gross motor skills. This was followed by outpatient physical therapy. The twins initially had customized ZipZac seats, which they were able to wheel independently. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to examine perioperative medication patterns surrounding major amputation surgeries.
DESIGN: A retrospective chart review of 216 cases of major amputations (transfemoral, hip disarticulation, hemipelvectomy, forequarter) at an academic hospital was conducted, examining medications, dosing changes, and drug-drug interaction warnings preoperatively and postoperatively.

BACKGROUND: Pelvic deformity after resection of malignant pelvic tumors causes scoliosis. Although the central sacral vertical line (CSVL) is often used to evaluate the coronal alignment and determine the treatment strategy for scoliosis, it is not clear whether the CSVL is a suitable coronal reference axis in cases with pelvic deformity. BACKGROUND: To determine the clinical outcomes in patients with pelvic osteosarcoma, we reviewed the experience with 54 pelvic osteosarcoma patients.

The cases of 40 patients with osteosarcoma of the pelvis treated between 1977 and 1994 were reviewed. The location of the tumor was ilium in 30 patients, ischium in four, pubis in one, and sacrum in five. Most (58%) of the tumors were of the chondroblastic subtype.
