A 54-year-old man was treated with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) after undergoing living donor renal transplantation. Two years later, he experienced repeated episodes of diarrhea, and his C-reactive protein (CRP) level was found to be 12.63 mg/dL. BACKGROUND: Intussusception of the appendix is a very rare condition. It may clinically mimic acute or chronic abdominal diseases or can be asymptomatic.
CASE REPORT: This paper describes our experience with intussusception of the appendix. We report a case of a female with appendiceal intussusception and ileum endometriosis.
CONCLUSION: It is important to know about such a rare condition in order to avoid mistaking it with other abdominal diseases. However, diagnosis is rarely made preoperatively.

INTRODUCTION: We report our experience involving a rare case of ileum endometriosis complicated with small bowel obstruction.
PRESENTATION OF CASE: 33 years old female patient, admitted to emergency service with abdominal pain, abdominal distension, and vomiting. Abdominal X-ray showed dilated small bowel loops. Intussusception in adults is a rare cause for intestinal obstruction and is usually secondary to some lesion in the gastrointestinal tract GIT. We report a case of intestinal obstruction due to ileo-colic intussusception; an inflammatory fibroid polyp formed the leading edge of the intussusceptum, which is a rare polypoidal lesion of the GIT.

Carcinoid tumors of the ileum represent the most frequent localization of this type of tumor in the gastrointestinal tract. The association of this tumor with the presence of inflammatory bowel disease is well characterized. Self-limiting colitis is an entity that poses serious difficulties when performing a differential diagnosed by other causes of colitis. We present the case of a patient who was diagnosed with carcinoid tumor of the ileum. Clinical and histological findings of self-limiting colitis were also observed.

Intussusception is a relatively common pediatric gastrointestinal emergency, although the etiology in most cases remains unknown. In a small number of cases the lead point is a tumor or tumor-like lesion of the small bowel. We report an unusual case of a myoepithelial hamartoma of the ileum causing an intussusception in a 4-month-old boy. This is the second such report in the literature.

Heterotopic gastric mucosa (HGM) in the small bowel, other than in the Meckel's diverticulum or other congenitally anomalous bowel, is exceedingly rare. A patient with HGM of the small intestine with perforation of the ileum due to ulceration of the adjacent mucosa is presented. The authors remark the importance of the histological criteria to differentiate between true HGM from metaplastic changes, two entities with different behavior and prognostic implications.

The gastrointestinal tuberculosis is a rare disease and it can mimic a large variety of gastrointestinal diseases. The most common site of gastrointestinal tuberculosis is the ileocoecal region followed by the ascending colon and jejunum. Complications are an absolute indication for surgical intervention.
