The 2014-2015 Ebola epidemic in West Africa has been the deadliest Ebola epidemic to date. In response to this deadly epidemic, the U.S. government declared this a top national security priority and members of the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service were tasked to provide direct patient care to Ebola virus disease patients. Commissioned Corps nurses provided the highest level of care under the most austere conditions. This article discusses the training, ethical dilemmas, and constant risk for potential exposure while working in an Ebola Treatment Unit.

Psychiatric nurses are frequent victims of workplace violence, much of which is perpetrated by patients. A comprehensive training program for reliable use of the ICD/10 in Consultation-Liaison (C-L) psychiatry was conducted with 220 psychiatrists and psychologists from 14 European countries. The training included rating of written test cases and development of a coding manual to avoid diagnostic pitfalls not addressed in the ICD-10 manual. Rules and regulations of federal agencies and state radiation protection programs provide the bases for hospital policy regarding radiation safety for nurses. Nursing administrators should work with the radiation safety officer at their institutions to ensure that radiation exposures to staff nurses will be as low as reasonably achievable and that special consideration will be given to pregnant nurses. Nurses' fears about their exposure to radiation can be greatly reduced through education.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the talk behaviors that occur during teaching clinic supervisory conferences. Two matched groups of five clinicians participated in teaching clinic supervision for 4 wk. Two supervisors alternately supervised both groups. BACKGROUND: Newborn resuscitation is a life-saving intervention for birth asphyxia, a leading cause of neonatal mortality. Improving provider newborn resuscitation skills is critical for delivering quality care, but the retention of these skills has been a challenge.
