Neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) goniopuncture is an efficient and safe treatment for low filtration through the trabeculo-Descemet's membrane after deep sclerectomy with a collagen implant (DSCI). We report four patients who had glaucoma in association with the Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome. Two of these patients had acute angle-closure glaucoma, one had chronic angle-closure glaucoma, and one was treated for open-angle glaucoma; however, the angle structures could not be seen by gonioscopy. Observation with long follow-up of the first 200 cases of intraocular injection of silicone combined with vitrectomy led us to discover three major complications: cataract, keratopathy and hypertonia, the last two found only in aphakic eyes. We report the clinical features, treatments, and outcomes of 9 infants with glaucoma secondary to congenital fibrovascular pupillary membrane. The clinical features included unilateral low vision, high intraocular pressure (IOP), enlarged and cloudy cornea, loss of anterior chamber, and pupillary membrane. All patients underwent membranectomy, peripheral iridectomy, pupilloplasty, and goniosynechialysis as primary treatment. The membranes were posterior to the iris in all 9 eyes. PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Angle closure glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness globally and trends of how best to treat this disease are evolving. The advent of anterior segment imaging aids our understanding of pathogenesis and allows more robust and objective measurement of treatment modalities. A 60-year-old woman with endometrioid adenocarcinoma (stage FIGO II) presented with left eye pain. A hysterectomy was to be preceded by pelvic radiation therapy (45 Gy). BACKGROUND: Glaucoma, the silent thief of sight, is one of the most common vision-threatening conditions. Even though POAG (primary open angle glaucoma) is more common, PACG (primary angle closure glaucoma) is the dreaded variant. ISGEO (International Society for Geographical and Epidemiological Ophthalmology) has classified primary angle closure as PACS (primary angle closure suspect), PAC (primary angle closure), and PACG (primary angle closure glaucoma.
