Preparation of Multifunctional Hydrogel Loaded with Isochlorogenic Acid A/Fe3+ Co-Assembled Nanoparticles and Its Application in Skin Wound Repair.

The skin serves as the largest protective barrier organ of the human body and is easily impaired by trauma, infection and chronic diseases. Efficient wound dressings are indispensable for repairing infected wounds. Isochlorogenic acid A (IAA), the core active ingredient of Shanyinhua, has superior anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. However, low water solubility and weak structural stability restrict its direct application in wound treatment. In this work, IAA@Fe(III) nanoparticles (IAA@Fe(III) NPs) were synthesized through self-assembly and loaded into cross-linked amylopectin (Amy)/

Multifunctional human serum albumin-crosslinked and self-assembling nanoparticles for therapy of periodontitis by anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation and osteogenesis.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that can result in the irreversible loss of tooth-supporting tissues and elevate the likelihood and intensity of systemic diseases. The presence of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and associated related oxidative stress is intricately linked to the progression and severity of periodontal inflammation. Targeted removal of local ROS may serve to attenuate inflammation, improve the unfavorable periodontal microenvironment and potentially reverse ensuing pathological cascades. These ROS scavenging nanoparticles, which possess additional characteristics

Multifunctional Magnetic CuS/Gd2O3 Nanoparticles for Fluorescence/Magnetic Resonance Bimodal Imaging-Guided Photothermal-Intensified Chemodynamic Synergetic Therapy of Targeted Tumors.

Chemodynamic therapy (CDT), which consumes endogenous hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) and causes oxidative damage to tumor cells, shows tremendous promise for advanced cancer treatment. However, the rate of ROS generation based on the Fenton reaction is prone to being restricted by inadequate H2O2 and unattainable acidity in the hypoxic tumor microenvironment. We herein report a multifunctional nanoprobe (BCGCR) integrating bimodal imaging and photothermal-enhanced CDT of the targeted tumor, which is produced by covalent conjugation of bovine serum albumin-st

Nanoparticle-free dualmodal lateral flow immunoassay for sensitive detection of aflatoxin B1 based on "four-in-one" multifunctional nanobody.

BACKGROUND: Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), a potent mycotoxin prevalent in food commodities, poses severe health threats requiring rapid and ultra-sensitive on-site detection. Lateral flow immunoassays (LFIAs) have emerged as a promising solution due to their simplicity, low cost, and rapid result readout. However, conventional LFIAs relying on nanomaterial-labeled antibodies face challenges such as complex fabrication, limited stability, and notably reduced analytical sensitivity when using nanobodies. It is thus essential to develop a streamlined and robust LFIA platform that overcomes the inherent co

Green assembly of high-density and small-sized silver nanoparticles on lignosulfonate-phenolic resin spheres: Focusing on multifunction of lignosulfonate.

In this work, sodium lignosulfonate (SL) was introduced in the hydrothermal preparation of phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resin sphere that was subsequently used as a green reducer and support for synthesis of Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs). The results showed that the addition amount of SL had a remarkable effect on the size of the SL incorporated PF (SLPF) spheres and the smallest particle size was obtained when 20% of SL (based on phenol mass) was added. The addition of SL increased the surface area and negative charge of SLPF spheres, which enhanced the Ag NPs loading amount accordingly. Moreover, SL

Inexpensive Route to Reclaimable Biomass-Derived Magnetic DNA Nanoparticles Exhibiting Multifunctional Nanozyme Activity via Visible-Light-Induced Reactive Oxygen Species Regulation.

Imparting light-sensitive, multifaceted, and contrasting activity to biomass-derived nanoparticles is a far-fetched proposition, rarely achieved due to limited chemical diversity hindering effective surface chemistry. This has been successfully achieved here through a controlled hydrothermal pyrolytic synthesis of a magnetic nanoparticle, Fe-DNA Dot, derived from onion genomic DNA doped with Fe(III). The presence of redox-active Fe(III) on the surface enables the Fe-DNA Dot to respond to low-intensity visible white light (40 W LED), triggering nanozyme activity across a broad range of substrat

Multifunctional Serine Protease Inhibitor-Coated Water-Soluble Gold Nanoparticles as a Novel Targeted Approach for the Treatment of Inflammatory Skin Diseases.

The overexpression and increased activity of the serine protease Kallikrein 5 (KLK5) is characteristic of inflammatory skin diseases such as Rosacea. The use of inhibitors of this enzyme-such as 4-(2-aminoethyl)benzenesulfonyl fluoride hydrochloride (AEBSF·HCl) or the anti-human recombinant Kallikrein 5 (anti-KLK5) antibody-in the treatment of the disease has been limited due to their low bioavailability, for which their immobilization in drug delivery agents can contribute to making serine protease inhibitors clinically useful. In this work, we synthesized gold nanoparticles (GNP) coated with
