OBJECTIVE: Bone marrow biopsy complications are rare. Our aim is to study the association of improper palpation-guided iliac biopsy tract with complications.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is a retrospective study of adult patients who underwent iliac bone marrow biopsy without image guidance at our hospital from January 2019 to January 2021, and have cross-sectional radiologic imaging of the pelvis within 30 days following the procedure. Electronic health records were reviewed for clinical data. Two radiologists reviewed images of the pelvis for assessment of biopsy tract and complications.

OBJECTIVE: To discuss an effect of transmastoid repair of superior semicircular canal dehiscence and its resolution using a mastoid titanium mesh plate.
PATIENTS: A 53-year-old woman with a history of superior canal dehiscence syndrome (SCDS) and subsequent transmastoid repair experienced dizziness and a loud, drum-like sound in her repaired ear when touching the ear. Palpating the skin over the mastoid defect reproduced the symptoms and could be observed on binocular microscopy as tympanic membrane deformation synchronous with mastoid palpation.

This letter notifies the readers of the Dysphagia journal of an error in the original published version of this manuscript, for which a previously available open source spreadsheet tool had been used to calculate the position of the hyoid bone or larynx on lateral view videofluoroscopic images. An error in the mathematical formula built into the spreadsheet resulted in a reversal of the results for the X and Y planes of measurement. This erratum provides corrections to the results and interpretations of the original manuscript.

The purpose of this study was to compare train-of-four count and ratio measurements with the GE electromyograph to the TwitchView electromyograph, that was previously validated against mechanomography, and to palpation of train-of-four count. Electrodes for both monitors were applied to the same arm of patients undergoing an unrestricted general anesthetic. Train-of-four measurements were performed with both monitors approximately every 5 min. In a subset of patients, thumb twitch was palpated by one of the investigators. Eleven patients contributed 807 pairs of train-of-four counts or ratios.

The Headache Classification Committee of the International Headache Society recently issued revised diagnostic criteria for headache disorders. According to these criteria, tension-type headache may be subclassified depending upon whether pericranial muscle disorder is found. The presence or absence of pericranial muscle disorder was to be determined by palpating the muscles for tenderness or by measuring electromyographic (EMG) activity. In this study, pericranial muscles were palpated, and EMG activity was measured in 27 episodic tension-type headache patients and 32 headache-free controls.
