RATIONALE: Alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) is a rare, malignant neoplasm, which mostly occurs in the upper and lower extremities. This article presents an unusual case of ASPS involving the penis of a 3-year-old boy. To our knowledge, this is the first case of ASPS in the penis of a child.

BACKGROUND: Penile metastasis represents one of the rarest metastatic sites despite the organ's rich vascular network. Most reported cases originate from malignancies of the genitourinary tract, whereas metastasis from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is exceedingly uncommon. We report here 2 unusual cases of tumor of the glans penis in children. Abnormal findings were found on a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy soon after their first foreskin retraction. Initial medical examination suggested inclusions of smegma and they were referred to our Department of Pediatric Urology. Complete resection was performed under general anesthesia. We report a case of squamous cell carcinoma of the penis that seemed to arise within a verruciform xanthoma of this organ. A lesion in the prepuce was initially diagnosed as a verruciform xanthoma histopathologically and was removed in part. Granuloma venereum is an infectious disease usually found in tropical and subtropical regions. Most of the cases observed in Europe are infections from these tropical and subtropical countries. A case of ectopic lesion of Schistosoma haematobium of the penis with extensive tissue destruction, simulating an early carcinoma of the penis and almost resulting in an autoamputation of the crown of the penis, is presented. The penis was surgically repaired and the patient treated with ambilhar. In schistosoma endemic area, it is important to think of ectopic schistosoma lesion by such a presentation. Existing theories to explain the presence of schistosoma eggs in locations outside the portal-caval system were reviewed and another one was advanced: its being sexually transmitted.

Verruciform xanthoma is a rare and benign condition predominantly affecting the oral cavity, but also skin and female anogenital mucosa. It can be flat, papular-warty or crateriform-cystic. Lymph node (LN) involvement and pathological features of the primary lesion have been proven to be the most important survival factors.
