Clinical and Radiographic Evaluations of Biodentine™ Pulpotomies in Mature Primary Molars (Stage 2).

INTRODUCTION: The preservation of the integrity and health of primary teeth and their supporting tissues is of great importance in maintaining arch length space, mastication, speech, and esthetics. A pulpotomy is a common therapy performed on a primary tooth presenting reversible pulpitis or a traumatic pulp exposure, allowing its conservation on the arch until its loss. AIM: The study aims to clinically and radiographically evaluate the rates of success and efficacy of Biodentine™ as pulpotomy medicament exclusively on deciduous molars with complete roots formation (stage 2). A clinical evaluation of root resorption by formocresol treatment in 120 cases of pulpotomy in permanent molars.

The effect of a formocresol pulpotomy of a 120 permanent molar showed external and internal resorption on distal root in lower molar, and palatal root in the upper molar. In this study 33.3% were male and 66.7% were female. The age distribution of patients was 16 to 20 years of age and 21 to 25 years of age. The rate of resorption for chronic pulpitis was more than acute pulpitis. The success of formocresol pulpotomy treatment at the end of the 10th year for acute pulpitis was 92.26% in contrast to 84% for chronic pulpitis.

Eggshell powder as a biomimetic alternative to biodentine in primary teeth pulpotomy: a comparative clinical and radiographic study.

Eggshell powder (EP) has been suggested as a cost-effective pulpotomy material due to its high biocompatibility, remineralization potential, and ability to induce dentin bridge formation. This study compared the clinical and radiographic outcomes of EP, Biodentine, and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) when used as pulpotomy agents in primary molars. A randomized split-mouth clinical trial was performed on 30 children, each receiving pulpotomy in 3 primary molars assigned to Group I (EP), Group II (Biodentine), and Group III (MTA), with 30 teeth per group. Clinical evaluations were carried out

Effectiveness of pulpotomy compared with pulpectomy for irreversible pulpitis in primary teeth: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: Pulpotomy is increasingly explored as a minimally invasive alternative to pulpectomy for managing irreversible pulpitis in primary teeth. However, its comparative effectiveness remains unclear. This systematic review aims to compare the clinical and radiographic success of pulpotomy versus pulpectomy in primary teeth with irreversible pulpitis. STUDY SELECTION AND SOURCES: A detailed search of six electronic databases up to April 2025 identified studies comparing pulpotomy and pulpectomy in primary teeth with symptomatic or asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis, exclu

Survival Analysis of Prefabricated Zirconia Crowns with and Without Pulpotomy in Primary Teeth: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

BACKGROUND: Prefabricated Zirconia Crowns (PZCs) are increasingly preferred for restoring primary teeth due to their esthetic appeal and retention. However, their rigid, unmodifiable design requires precise tooth preparation, often leading to aggressive reduction and potential pulp exposure. Pulpotomy, a standard treatment for reversible pulpitis and mechanical pulp exposure, is sometimes employed before PZCs. While pulpotomy is not routinely performed, its use raises important considerations about the interplay between restorative procedures and pulp therapy in pediatric dentistry, particular
