Alveolar soft part sarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumor with uncertain histogenesis. It is a slow growing tumor with a high rate of metastasis. The tumor is not easily identified as clinical symptoms are not pronounced. The retroperitoneum is a rare location of tumor, with a few cases published in literature. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment. Here we describe a rare case of a large retroperitoneal Alveolar soft part sarcoma in a young female with radiological and histopathological findings.

Fungal sinusitis may be caused by filamentous fungi such as mucorales, aspergillus and entomophthorales. Mucormycosis and aspergillosis have immunocompromised states as specific risk factors, whereas entomophthorales may occur in apparently healthy persons having significant soil contact. This is, nonetheless, a rare condition with involvement of mucosa of the nose, para nasal sinuses and centrofacial soft tissues, without bony or angioinvasion. It grows relentlessly, however, and may mimic soft tissue neoplasm causing facial disfigurement.

Many disorders produce discomfort in the metatarsal region of the forefoot. These disorders include traumatic lesions of the soft tissues and bones (eg, turf toe, plantar plate disruption, sesamoiditis, stress fracture, stress response), Freiberg infraction, infection, arthritis, tendon disorders (eg, tendinosis, tenosynovitis, tendon rupture), nonneoplastic soft-tissue masses (eg, ganglia, bursitis, granuloma, Morton neuroma), and, less frequently, soft-tissue and bone neoplasms. Prior to the advent of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, many of these disorders were not diagnosed noninvasively,

INTRODUCTION: The foot is a complex structure composed of several tissues, each of which can be the origin of the proliferation and development of the tumour. Most lesions about the foot are reactive or inflammatory, but some are true neoplasms.
METHOD: This is a retrospective analysis of 4997 patient records treated in the Orthopaedic Oncology Unit of University Malaya Medical Centre, Malaysia, between 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2020. Demographic data of 195 patients with foot tumours were analysed out of 4997 neoplasm patients.
RESULTS: There were 195 cases of foot tumours: 148 were ben

An adult male channel-billed toucan (Ramphastos vitellinus) was presented with a history of weakness, dyspnea, and severe dilatation of the coelomic cavity, which was caused by accumulation of serohemorrhagic fluid. Radiographs revealed increased radiodensity and thickness of the descending aorta and a pectoral mass, and blood test results revealed anemia, hypocalcemia, hypoproteinemia, and hyperuricemia. On ultrasound examination, a hyperechoic enlarged soft tissue mass was found in the caudodorsal region of the coelom. The bird did not respond to supportive care and died. Postmortem examinat

OBJECTIVE: The non-epithelial neoplasms of larynx and hypopharynx are of rare incidence but may originate from various histological tissues. These effect in the difficulty of final diagnosis and often delay the proper treatment.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: There was performed retrospective analysis of patients with histopathologicaly confirmed non-epithelial neoplasms of larynx or hypopharynx between 2001 and 2013, that included the evaluation of epidemiology, diagnostic methods and treatment.
RESULTS: Non-epithelial neoplasms of larynx and hypopharynx were established in 18 patients (9 women, 9 m

RATIONALE: Soft tissue masses are common within the general population with a minority diagnosed as soft tissue neoplasms. Differing between benign and malignant soft tissue processes can be a challenge given the overlapping clinical and imaging characteristics. We present the case of a 69-year-old female referred to the Orthopaedic Oncology Service for evaluation of a suspected soft tissue sarcoma in the upper arm.
PATIENT CONCERNS: She reported a mass localized over the deltoid with associated tenderness 1 month after influenza vaccination.
DIAGNOSIS: After thorough consideration of the pa

Leiomyosarcoma of the tongue is an extremely rare malignant mesenchymal neoplasm and only 25 cases have been described in the English-language literature, 22 of which were primary lesions. A case is presented of a 54-year-old female patient diagnosed with primary leiomyosarcoma of the tongue with lung and multiple soft tissue metastases. This case is especially unusual because widespread soft tissue metastases resulted, involving the lung and skeletal muscle in 3 separate sites. Unfortunately, curative treatment was not possible. Chemotherapy using a combination of ifosfamide and doxorubicin w

Osteomas are benign bony neoplasms commonly found in long bones and in the skull and facial bones. Osseous growths within soft tissue structures of the head and neck are rare. Review of the English literature reveals only 31 cases of osteomas within the soft tissues of the tongue and 2 in the buccal mucosa. We report on a patient with a bony hard asymptomatic mass at the base of the tongue, which was found to be an osteoma by biopsy. Complete removal was declined by the patient. There was no progression during a six-month period of follow-up.

One-hundred-eleven cases of histopathologically atypical or malignant lipomatous lesions in the somatic soft tissue and retroperitoneum were studied. These consisted of 48 differentiated fatty neoplasms of the somatic soft tissues (DFT-S), 21 fatty neoplasms of the retroperitoneum (DFT-R), 33 myxoid liposarcomas from various sites and nine pleomorphic liposarcomas. DFT-S were defined as lipomatous lesions composed of mature fat and containing atypical stromal cells or lipoblasts. In the somatic soft tissues, this group included lesions that would be classified using published criteria as "atyp

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is an uncommon soft tissue neoplasm of uncertain biologic behavior, and rarely reported in the stomach. An eighteen-year-old male presented with a mass in the epigastrium of three-month duration. Clinical and radiological examination suggested a gastrointestinal stromal tumor or a leiomyoma in the lesser curvature of the stomach. On the basis of histomorphological features and immunohistochemical analysis the diagnosis of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in the lesser curvature of the stomach was made. Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor should be considered

The clinical manifestation was gradually hoarseness for half a year, with aggravation of dyspnea in three days. Physical examination and laryngoscopy showed laryngeal neoplasm, the glottis was not exposed, pedicle, no adhesion with the surrounding. CT scan showed glottic soft-tissue, density, unclear boundary. Enhanced CT showed anterior commissure thickening and tumor invasion of supraglottic region. Preoperative biopsy results: fibroblasts and fibrocyte were arranged in a crisscross pattern. Postoperative pathology showed laryngeal soft tissue sarcoma.

Pleomorphic hyalinizing angiectatic tumor (PHAT) is a very rare entity of soft tissue considered a "neoplasm of uncertain behaviour of connective or other soft tissue" by the World Health Organization (2020). It develops in subcutaneous tissue of the lower extremities, more frequently in the region of the ankle and foot, and rarely as a deep-seated soft tissue mass in locations such as the perineum, buttock, arms, head and neck, and viscera. Although inconsistent cytogenetic data have been reported on PHAT so far, there are potential morphological and genetic overlaps with hemosiderotic fibrol

The pseudomyogenic hemangioendothelioma (PMH) is a low-grade malignant vascular neoplasm of different tissue planes including skin and soft tissue. Primary tumors in the skeletal muscle and bone have also been diagnosed. The PMH was introduced into the WHO classification of tumors of soft tissue and bone in 2013. This is the first description of oral involvement. A 21-year-old female presented with a 2-month old swelling of her gingiva. The swelling appeared red in color and was soft in consistency. A clinical diagnosis of a pyogenic granuloma was made and an incisional biopsy was submitted fo

BACKGROUND: Soft-Tissue Sarcoma (STS) is a heterogeneous group of neoplasms of mesenchymal origin, occurring in connective tissues. According to previously conducted studies, STS accounts for approximately 1% and 7-%15% of adult and pediatric malignancies, respectively. Almost 50%-60% of sarcomas arise from extremities and usually present as a large painless or rarely painful soft-tissue mass. The present study aimed to describe the epidemiology of soft-tissue sarcomas, especially in the Iranian population.
METHODS: This epidemiological study of limb soft-tissue sarcoma was conducted based on

Pleomorphism in cells encompasses a variety of morphological features, such as heterogeneity in the size and shape of cells and nuclei, irregularity of the nuclear membrane, hyperchromasia, and peculiarities of cell organelles. Pleomorphism in mammalian cells is associated with genetically unstable neoplasms and is frequently accompanied by high rates of proliferation and low differentiation status. Among soft tissue sarcomas, a group of tumors characterized by the pleomorphic phenotype can be distinguished. Pleomorphic soft tissue sarcomas are a rare, understudied group of soft tissue sarcoma

Soft tissue and bone tumors comprise a wide category of neoplasms. Their diversity frequently raises diagnostic challenges, and therapeutic options are continuously developing. The therapeutic success rate and long-term prognosis of patients have improved substantially due to new advances in immunohistochemical and molecular biology techniques. A fundamental contribution to these achievements has been the study of the tumor microenvironment and the reclassification of new entities with the updating of the molecular pathogenesis in the revised 5th edition of the Classification of Soft Tissue Tu
