The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) offers spiritual supports to Veterans nationally through its Chaplaincy Service and its Whole Health initiative. There are no systematic efforts to extend spiritual supports to Veterans re-entering community post-incarceration, however. Thus, the full potential of spiritual supports in bolstering well-being and minimizing recidivism during re-entry may not be fully realized. Bilateral simultaneous fracture of the neck of the femur is an extremely rare injury; out of the reported cases, 50% are caused by electrical shock. We reported a rare case of simultaneous bilateral femur neck fracture caused by electrical shock as a part of spiritual therapy. The patient underwent bilateral open reduction and internal fixation with cannulated screws. Unfortunately, the fixation failed, and the patient underwent bilateral total hip arthroplasty. The patient was satisfied with the outcome at the final follow-up.

This study surveys religious victims of CSA from three Christian universities with regard to general coping strategies, religious practices used in the healing process, and self-report of current life satisfaction. About twenty percent of the respondents acknowledged some type of childhood sexual abuse. The study identified negative correlations between both professional and church based counseling and positive life satisfaction ratings. When specific spiritual practices were used there was positive correlation between forgiveness and life satisfaction.
