A Real-Time Flame Detection Method Using Deformable Object Detection and Time Sequence Analysis.

Timely and accurate flame detection is a very important and practical technology for preventing the occurrence of fire accidents effectively. However, the current methods of flame detection are still faced with many challenges in video surveillance scenarios due to issues such as varying flame shapes, imbalanced samples, and interference from flame-like objects. In this work, a real-time flame detection method based on deformable object detection and time sequence analysis is proposed to address these issues. Firstly, based on the existing single-stage object detection network YOLOv5s, the net

Constructing differential equations using only a scalar time-series about continuous time chaotic dynamics.

We propose a simple method of constructing a system of differential equations of chaotic behavior based on the regression only from scalar observable time-series data. The estimated system enables us to reconstruct invariant sets and statistical properties as well as to infer short time-series. Our successful modeling relies on the introduction of a set of Gaussian radial basis functions to capture local structures. The proposed method is used to construct a system of ordinary differential equations whose orbit reconstructs a time-series of a variable of the well-known Lorenz system as a simpl

Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time and Prothrombin Time Mixing Studies: Current State of the Art.

Mixing studies have long been in the clinical laboratory armamentarium for investigating unexpected, prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) or prothrombin time (PT). The purpose of the mixing study is to identify whether the aPTT/PT prolongation is secondary to a factor deficiency versus an inhibitor, which would present as a "corrected" and "noncorrected" mixing study, respectively. The differentiation between a factor deficiency and inhibitor may likely further direct clinical decisions, including additional diagnostic testing or factor replacement therapy. While aPTT/PT mixi

[Multiphasic time: Representations, modelisation and dynamics: Putting time back in motion after traumatic violence].

A multiphasic time model, integrating the past, present and future in close interrelations, is first presented and offers a contextual approach to the perceptions and responses of an individual according to his/her personal history and environment. The present and future prospects are in continuity with the past and its consequences and effects. The past, even when it is not or no longer expressed, influences the present and the future, and this over several generations. Past life events and experiences, as well as psychological and biological states previously experienced by the individual (s

Time-varying voice directivity in real-time room acoustic simulation: Implementation and perceptual evaluation.

Source directivity is an integral part of room acoustic simulation, affecting not only the intensity and frequency balance of the direct sound depending on source orientation, but also room-acoustic parameters, such as the direct-to-reverberant energy ratio. While the directivity of a loudspeaker is time-invariant, the directivity of other sound sources, such as the human voice, varies over time. Whether these time-dependent directivity changes must be fully considered for a plausible binaural rendering of speech remains an open question, requiring rendering solutions that can reproduce time-v

Finite-time and predefined-time dynamical systems for solving strongly pseudomonotone mixed equilibrium problems.

In this paper, we propose a class of proximal dynamical systems (PDSs) with finite-time (FT) stability and predefined-time (PdT) stability for solving strongly pseudomonotone mixed equilibrium problems (MEPs) in Hilbert spaces. Unlike existing approaches for variational inequalities and standard equilibrium problems, the proposed framework is developed specifically for MEPs and provides two distinct dynamical models with FT and PdT convergence. Under the assumptions of strong pseudomonotonicity and Lipschitz-type continuity, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium solution

Analyzing interrupted time series with count outcomes using single or multiple control time series.

BACKGROUND: Interrupted time series (ITS) analysis is a widely used quasi-experimental design for evaluating the impact of population-level interventions. To control for confounding from concurrent events, researchers often incorporate control time series. However, for count outcomes, especially with control series, methodological development remains limited. DEVELOPMENT: We introduce a likelihood-based framework for controlled ITS analysis with count data. The proposed framework is based on a conditional Poisson likelihood and naturally extends to settings with multiple control series. This

How background music rhythm modulates time perception: Evidence from the estimation of collision time.

Time-to-collision (TTC) estimation, the ability to predict when a moving object will reach a designated position, represents a critical skill for motor behavior regulation. However, although existing studies have demonstrated significant effects of object velocity and distance on TTC estimation, the role of auditory rhythm remains poorly understood. This study systematically investigated the influence of background musical rhythm on TTC estimation through two experiments (manipulating velocity and distance variables) combined with Bayesian modeling. The results demonstrated that ‌fast-tempo mu

CA125-Associated Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time and Thrombin Time Decrease in Patients with Adenomyosis.

OBJECTIVE: Adenomyosis patients are in a hypercoagulable state, and studies have shown that carbohydrate antigen125 (CA125) may relate to the hypercoagulability and thrombosis of patients with adenomyosis, but there is still a lack of clarity regarding the changes in CA125-related coagulation indicators. This study was to explore the changes and influencing factors of CA125-related coagulation parameters in patients with adenomyosis. METHODS: Retrospective observational study conducted on 200 patients with adenomyosis (AM group), 240 patients with uterine leiomyoma (LM group) and 81 patients

Prime Time or Lyme Time: A Case of Lyme Hepatitis in the Emergency Department.

Lyme disease, a tick-borne illness, is caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi. Lyme disease commonly presents with the characteristic erythema migrans rash, fever, malaise, headache, and arthralgias. Some patients may have mild liver manifestations, including abnormal liver function tests (LFTs), hyperbilirubinemia, or granulomatous hepatitis. Significant LFT abnormalities and hepatitis in a case of Lyme disease are rare. Here, we present a case of Lyme hepatitis in the emergency department (ED) where the patient presented with classic Lyme symptoms and was also found to have markedly e

Time After Time: A Second Look at Evolving Rash With Multiple Exposures to Amoxicillin.

Pediatric penicillin drug reactions may present in many forms such as erythema multiforme, serum-sickness, serum-sickness-like reaction (SSLR), Henoch-Schonlein Purpura (HSP), and urticarial vasculitis. Here, we review the case of a 13-month-old with atypical presentation of a drug reaction with increasing severity after each exposure to amoxicillin. We discuss the various differential diagnoses in comparison to our patient's presentation and conclude with the recommendation of considering timing and previous exposures in the diagnosis of drug-associated rashes in pediatric population.

Time Perception and the Experience of Time When Immersed in an Altered Sensory Environment.

The notion that exposure to a monotonous sensory environment could elicit reports indicating aberrant subjective experience and altered time perception is the impetus for the present report. Research has looked at the influence of exposure to such environments on time perception, reporting that the greater the environmental variation, the shorter is the time estimation obtained by the method of production. Most conditions for creating an altered sensory environment, however, have not facilitated an immersive experience, one that directly impacts both time perception and subjective experience.

A comprehensive assessment of gait accelerometry signals in time, frequency and time-frequency domains.

Gait accelerometry is a promising tool to assess human walking and reveal deteriorating gait characteristics in patients and can be a rich source of clinically relevant information about functional declines in older adults. Therefore, in this paper, we present a comprehensive set of signal features that may be used to extract clinically valuable information from gait accelerometry signals. To achieve our goal, we collected tri-axial gait accelerometry signals from 35 adults 65 years of age and older. Fourteen subjects were healthy controls, 10 participants were diagnosed with Parkinson's disea
