Genotype-phenotype and genotype-origin correlations in children with mediterranean fever in Germany - an AID-net study.

Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most inherited common autoinflammatory disease (AID) with mutations in the MEFV (MEditerraneanFeVer) gene. The Mor- and Pras-Score modified for children and C-reactive protein (CRP) were used to assess FMF disease severity in Germany. We evaluate the applicability of the 2 severity scores and the correlations between ethnic origin, phenotype, and genotype.Among 242 children (median 5 age at diagnosis), we detected 431 pyrin mutations and 22 different sequence variants, including one new mutation (p.Gly488Asp). The 5 most -frequent alterations were p.Met

A novel locus for autosomal recessive primary torsion dystonia (DYT17) maps to 20p11.22-q13.12.

Primary torsion dystonia is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of movement disorders. Fifteen different types of dystonia have been described to date, of whom 14 loci have been mapped, but only seven genes identified. Several different modes of inheritance have been described, including autosomal dominant transmission with reduced penetrance (12 loci), recessive X-linked (one locus), and autosomal recessive transmission (three loci). In this study, we describe the localization of a novel form of autosomal recessive, primary focal torsion dystonia using a genomewide search in a la

Healthcare personnel acceptance and recommendations for influenza vaccine in twelve low- and middle-income countries: A pooled analysis from 2018 to 2020.

BACKGROUND: Although healthcare personnel (HCP) are targeted for influenza vaccination they typically underutilize vaccines especially in low- and middle-income countries. We explored knowledge, attitudes, and practices of HCP about seasonal influenza vaccines (SIV) to identify factors associated with and modifiable barriers to SIV uptake. METHODS: We pooled individual-level data from cross-sectional surveys about SIV conducted among health workers in 12 low- and middle- income countries during 2018-2020 (i.e., Albania, Armenia, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Lebanon, Morocco, Nor

When a neglected tropical zoonotic disease emerges in non-endemic countries: need to proactively fill the unveiled knowledge gaps towards human monkeypox among the Lebanese population.

INTRODUCTION: The ongoing multi-country outbreak of monkeypox (MPX) that emerges in non-endemic areas is a rare and unprecedented event that has sparked a widespread public health concern. Lebanon has reported four confirmed cases of MPX so far. Since good knowledge about the MPX virus and its associated disease is paramount for helping the Lebanese population prepare for a possible outbreak, therefore, it is important to assess their current level of knowledge regarding MPX and to identify its associated factors to highlight any knowledge gaps that need to be filled. METHODS: An online cross

Strategies, interventions, and uptake of catch-up vaccination among adolescent and adult migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs): A systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Catch-up vaccination helps close immunity gaps among migrants, refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite immunisation life-course policies and global guidelines promoting catch-up vaccination of arriving migrants, vaccination strategies for adolescent and adult populations are poorly described. We synthesised evidence on catch-up vaccination strategies and interventions, delivery platforms, uptake and coverage, and contextual barriers and enablers in LMICs. METHODS: We searched Embase, Medline, PsycINFO, Global Health, Web
