Myoepithelial cell carcinoma (MCC) of the salivary gland is a rare entity. Here, we describe the karyotype of MCC. The patient was a 53-year-old man, with a rapidly growing lesion of the palate. Despite complete surgical excision, radio- and chemotherapy, the lesion rapidly harboured local and distant metastases leading to the death of the patient, 4 months after the diagnosis. Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome (SGBS) is an X linked disorder characterised by pre- and postnatal overgrowth, coarse facial features, and visceral and skeletal abnormalities. Like other overgrowth syndromes, in the SGBS there is an increased risk for developing neoplasia, mainly embryonic, such as Wilms tumour. We report a 3 year old male patient with SGBS and hepatocellular carcinoma, a previously undescribed tumour associated with the syndrome.

Clinical examination of the oral and peri-oral regions of a cohort of 550 Vietnamese living in a refugee camp in Hong Kong was conducted. They comprised 216 (39 per cent) males and 334 (61 per cent) females and their age ranged from 2 to 60 years. A positive clinical finding was observed in 14 per cent, 35 males and 43 females. Adenomatoid hyperplasia of minor salivary glands is rare, idiopathic, and benign, and typically presents as a tumour-like mass in the hard or soft palate. Its exact nature is not clear and histological examination usually shows an excess of normal-appearing minor salivary glands. To our knowledge, cytogenetic analysis of it in a minor salivary gland of the palate has not previously been reported. We present the cytogenetic analysis of adenomatoid hyperplasia in the hard palate of a 52-year-old woman.

A patient came with left-side temporomandibular arthralgia, limited mandibular opening, frontal facial asymmetry, and a significant anterolateral open bite. Severe alterations in the occlusal and maxillofacial anatomy resulted from an osteochondroma associated with the mandibular condyle. We describe the changes associated with extirpation of the mandibular condylar osteochondroma and subsequent orthodontic treatment. These clinical changes resulted in improved facial symmetry and a satisfactory functional occlusion.

This report presents a new use for rehabilitation protocol for oral sinus communications in patients with antiresorptive agent-induced osteonecrosis of the jaw. The treatment plan consisted of constructing an atraumatic complete denture with rounded edges, made with nontoxic resin, to prevent any injury to the mucosa and recurrence of the disease. The patient was followed up for 4 years, without any complications, and was socially reintegrated by resuming the normal life he experienced before tooth loss.
