Direct argon or thermal laser angioplasty (LA) was evaluated for thrombogenicity using angioscopy, and compared with balloon angioplasty (BA). We performed argon and krypton laser photocoagulation of the retina and ciliary body on rabbit and monkey eyes using an exolaser probe. Clinically, transscleral retinal lesions produced a white circumscribed reaction. Histologically, we observed necrosis of the retina and choroid. Knowledge of the elastic properties of a fluid is crucial for predicting its flow under high pressure, particularly in porous media. However, when a fluid is confined to a nanopore, many of its thermodynamic properties change as compared to bulk. The results of complex treatment of 113 patients with different forms of erysipelas were analyzed. In 73 (64.6%) of them argon plasma using "Argon scalpel SP-CPT" in therapeutic regimen was applied as daily local exposure. BACKGROUND: Cancer of the oesophagus and the cardia tends to present late. Palliation of dysphagia is the prospect of most of the patients. This paper reports the use of argon electrocoagulation in 83 patients with inoperable cancer strictures in the oesophagus and cardia.
METHODS: The argon electrocoagulation was done by a fibre conducting electricity and argon air to the site of coagulation. After treatment the patients were allowed to take fluids and normal food the same evening or the next morning. After recanalization the patients were treated regularly every 3-4 weeks.

The electrophysiologic and histologic effects of the Bard Argon Beam Coagulator (ABC) were investigated in the New Zealand White rabbit. Thirty-four rabbits were divided into three groups. A group of 20 patients (28 eyes) with proliferative retinopathy who required extensive argon laser photocoagulation to induce regression of new vessels is presented. We surgically repaired seven eyes with severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy with intraocular argon laser photocoagulation. Five of the seven retinas were still attached six or more months postoperatively. We examined the characteristics of ocular pain induced by green argon laser photocoagulation in 13 eyes of ten patients. Thirty-four eyes (25 patients) with diagnosed chronic open angle glaucoma on maximal medical therapy were studied to determine whether argon laser trabecular surgery was a desirable alternative to carbonic anhydrase therapy. A new procedure for the treatment of uncontrolled aphakic glaucoma has been the subject of a carefully conducted prospective clinical trial in 14 patients. The study spanned more than five years.
