Myco-synthesized silver nanoparticles from Aspergillus niger AH1 as multifunctional anti-Helicobacter pylori agents: Antibacterial, antibiofilm, anti-urease, and antibiotic-synergistic activities.

Helicobacter pylori remains a primary driver of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, and stomach cancer. However, surging antimicrobial resistance now causes treatment to fail in a significant number of patients. Because of their multi-target bactericidal processes, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have become a viable alternative antimicrobial therapy. In the current research, AgNPs were greenly synthesized employing Aspergillus niger AH1 (A. niger AH1) through an ecofriendly method. The biosynthesized AgNPs showed a characteristic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at 420 nm, validating successfu

Influences of Fermentation Temperature on Volatile and Non-Volatile Compound Formation in Dark Tea: Mechanistic Insights Using Aspergillus niger as a Model Organism.

The mechanism of the quality formation of dark tea is not fully clear, particularly under variable fermentation temperatures. In this study, the tea fermented with Aspergillus niger (AN) at 25 (AN25) and 37 °C (AN37) exhibited the highest quality. Different fermentation temperatures primarily influenced the degradation of fatty acids and the hydrolysis of glycosides in the tea, with 37 °C being the most favorable for the release and accumulation of volatile compounds. Eighteen key volatiles were identified. Among these, benzaldehyde (a 120.9% increase compared to CK), α-ionone (957.8%), linalo

Isolation, identification, and quantum chemical analysis of structure-activity relationships of antioxidant peptides from sesame meal via Aspergillus niger fermentation and flavourzyme hydrolysis.

Sesame meal, a protein-rich by-product of oil processing, represents a promising source of bioactive peptides. An integrated fermentation-enzymatic strategy was developed to generate antioxidant peptides from sesame meal. Aspergillus niger fermentation enhanced by alkaline protease-derived soybean peptides improved proteolysis, followed by Flavourzyme hydrolysis under optimal conditions (pH 4.0, 50 °C, 20 h), yielding maximal antioxidant activity and peptide yield. All three in vitro antioxidant assays consistently demonstrated that peptides within 200 Da ∼ 2 kDa exhibited the strongest radica

Aspergillus niger-mediated release of phosphates from fish bone char reduces Pb phytoavailability in Pb-acid batteries polluted soil, and accumulation in fenugreek.

Soil receiving discharges from Pb-acid batteries dismantling and restoring units (PBS) can have a high concentration of phytoavailable Pb. Reducing Pb phytoavailability in PBS can decline Pb uptake in food crops and minimize the risks to humans and the environment. This pot study aimed to reduce the concentration of phytoavailable Pb in PBS through Aspergillus niger (A. niger)-mediated release of PO43- from fish bone [Apatite II (APII)] products. The PBS (Pb = 639 mg kg-1 soil) was amended with APII powder (APII-P), APII char (APII-C), and A. niger inoculum as separate doses, and combining A.
