Seven patients with an unruptured tubal pregnancy were treated with a single i.m. injection of methotrexate (1 mg per Kg) and monitored with beta hCG titer and ultrasound examination. Two of them required two doses for declining beta hCG titer. Among four infertile patients HSG done on two subsequently demonstrated tubal patency on the involved side in one patient.

Benign cystic teratomas of the ovary (dermoid cysts) are common in women in the 20- to 40-year-old age group; 10% of these teratomas are bilateral. There have been reports of hormone production by dermoid cysts, particularly thyroid-stimulating hormone. We report the first case to our knowledge, of ectopic human chorionic gonadotropin production by a dermoid cyst.

Daily plasma beta-HCG levels from days 11 to 18 after ovum retrieval (OR) were evaluated in a group of 73 women who became pregnant following in-vitro fertilization and embryo replacement (IVF-ER). Prolactin (PRL), human placental lactogen (hPL), the beta-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (betahCG), testosterone (T), estrone (E1), and estradiol (E2) were measured in blood samples from 45 patients with testicular tumors, 27 of whom had gynecomastia at some stage of their disease.
