A variety of therapeutic modalities, from implant to conventional Maryland prosthesis, can be used for the replacement of a missing anterior tooth. In patients refusing implant treatment, when minimal teeth reduction is preferred, a fibre reinforced composite (FRC) prosthesis can be a good alternative to conventional prosthetic techniques. The purpose of this case report is to describe the clinical procedure for fabricating hybrid type FRC prosthesis with pre-impregnated unidirectional E-glass fibres. Fibre-reinforced composite, in combination with adhesive technology, appears promising treatm

A series of self-toughening benzoxazine resins containing amino-terminated polyarylene ether nitrile (APEN) segments were synthesized from bisphenol-A, paraformaldehyde, and a mixed amine source of APEN and melamine. Unlike conventional physical blending toughening, the APEN segments are covalently incorporated into the benzoxazine network via their amino end groups. This chemical integration not only significantly improves toughness but also simultaneously enhances thermal and dielectric properties, overcoming the common trade-off of "toughening without heat resistance". Meanwhile, melamine s

The rapid advancement of aerospace technology demands electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials that maintain reliable performance under severe thermo-mechanical conditions, such as sustained high temperatures and thermal shock. Phenolic resin (PR) stands out as a highly suitable matrix material, especially for carbon-based composites, thanks to three key features: (i) good thermal stability from high char yield. (ii) strong ability to combine with various functional fillers. This review introduces the basic principles of EMI shielding and explains the influence of phenolic resin'

Background/Objectives: Human teeth naturally fluoresce due primarily to organic components within dentine, contributing to their vitality and appearance under ultraviolet (UV) light. Contemporary resin composites increasingly incorporate fluorescent agents to reproduce this property and improve aesthetic integration with natural dentition. This narrative review examines the fluorescence characteristics of natural teeth and direct resin composites, evaluates methods used to assess dental fluorescence, and identifies factors influencing fluorescence stability and biomimetic performance. Methods:

Dental resin composite (DRC) is the most widely used restorative material for caries filling treatments. However, DRC has limitations, including incomplete curing and suboptimal mechanical properties, which restrict its clinical application. In this study, we combined the mechanoluminescent material BaSi2O2N2:Eu2+ (BSON) with DRC to create a novel DRC (BD) capable of emitting blue light under occlusal force. This study explored a resin composite with enhanced curing efficiency and improved mechanical properties. Characterization of the mechanical properties demonstrated that, as the BSON dopin

The primary reason of dental restoration failure is the recurrence of caries, driving research to incorporate quaternary ammonium salts (QASs) into resin-based composites (RBCs). Given the prolonged contact of these materials with oral tissue, this in vitro study assessed the biocompatibility (cytotoxicity and genotoxicity) profiles of experimental RBCs modified with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide (DODAB), using two restorative materials: an unmodified-experimental composite, KE, and Flow-Art (FA) as comparative standards. The primarily novelty of

Resin composites became the material of choice for direct restorations in anterior and posterior teeth. Despite the revolutionary improvement in the material, restoration failure is still a major drawback due to the material's inherent negative properties, including a lack of antibacterial effects. Therefore, many attempts have been made to incorporate antibacterial agents into resin composite materials to improve their antimicrobial properties and prevent secondary caries formation. Multiple laboratory studies have been conducted using different antibacterial agents, such as quaternary ammoni
