A 26-year-old woman presented with severe exercise intolerance and pectus excavatum. She had significant sternal depression from ribs 2-6 with rotation to the right and a concomitant saucer deformity of the right anterior chest wall. The patient was evaluated and offered both the Ravitch and the Nuss repair. She chose the Ravitch repair but still had cosmetic concerns. A skin sparing modified Ravitch repair was performed through bilateral infra-mammary incisions with excellent cosmetic results.

Pain is a common condition in dermatology. The aim of this review is to analyse the characteristics of pain in dermatology. PURPOSE: We evaluated the effectiveness of a shorter skin incision technique for the treatment of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). The aim of the present study was to evaluate whether or not the difference in the length of the skin incision contributed to an early recovery after the operation.
METHODS: Between October 2001 and December 2004, we performed 105 elective repairs for AAA. The patients were divided into three groups according to the length of the skin incision as follows: group A, less than 15 cm, group B, from 15 cm to less than 20 cm, and group C, 20 cm or more.

Stapled hemorrhoidopexy may leave residual skin tags or external components following its use in large prolapsed piles. Excision of redundant mucosa above the dentate line and reconstitution to the staple line reduces these prolapsed elements. We describe a novel technique that removes residual skin tags and piles while remaining true to the spirit of stapled hemorrhoidopexy.

Traumatic lesions of the penis and scrotum are often encountered in urological emergency departments. We describe a case of complete unraveling of the penile skin and partial avulsion of the scrotal skin, which was treated without the need for a skin graft, which is usually the selected mode of treatment. Instead, we believe that a less aggressive surgical approach is more beneficial for the patient since it allows faster healing and prevents the development of complications.

A safe and easily performed method for percutaneous release of trigger digits is described which is performed in the outpatient clinic within a few minutes, without requiring any special instrument.
