PURPOSE: To analyze current practice patterns in the prevention and treatment of corneal graft rejection for both penetrating keratoplasty (PK) and endothelial keratoplasty (EK) and to compare these patterns with previously reported practices.
METHODS: In 2011, an electronic survey was sent to 670 members of the Cornea Society worldwide addressing the routine postoperative management of corneal transplants at different time points, treatment of various manifestations of corneal graft rejection, and preferred surgical techniques.

To understand the clinical course of human adenoviral (HAdV) conjunctivitis and establish a better treatment regimen, 38 eyes of 19 patients with HAdV-54 conjunctivitis for less than one week from onset were evaluated for clinical signs and symptoms and DNA copy numbers. Blau syndrome is an early-onset granulomatous disease known to affect the skin, joints, and eyes. We report a child with diffuse rash, arthritis, and subconjunctival nodules. Biopsy of the bulbar conjunctiva revealed noncaseating lipogranulomas that lead to a diagnosis of Blau syndrome. To our knowledge, noncaseating lipogranulomas of the conjunctiva have not been reported previously as a presenting finding in Blau syndrome. Although uveitis is the classic manifestation, it is important to broaden the awareness of other ocular signs, as these variations can aid in diagnosis.

Four patients with severe anterior scleritis that had not responded to conventional therapy were treated with cytotoxic immunosuppressive alkylating agents alone (one case) or in combination with prednisone (three cases). Two of the patients had Wegener's granulomatosis, one pyoderma gangrenosum, and one rheumatoid vasculitis. All patients responded well to this therapy with a decrease in inflammation and a healing of the sclera. Other systemic manifestations of the underlying diseases often responded well also.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of a topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (0.1% pranoprofen) on the expression of VEGF and Cox-2 in primary pterygium. Methods: This was a prospective, randomized study. Between January 2019 and April 2020, 120 patients diagnosed with primary pterygium were enrolled and randomly divided into three groups before operation: 1) 40 patients in group 1 received topical pranoprofen 0.1% four times daily for 4 weeks, 2) 40 patients in group 2 received topical fluorometholone 0.1% four times daily for 4 weeks, and 3) patients in group 3 did not receive treatment.

METHODS: Charts of adult patients with atopic dermatitis or eczema treated with topical periocular steroid creams and ointments from January 1st, 2007 to October 1st, 2017 were reviewed.
