UNLABELLED: Foreign bodies get into the bladder by self insertion, migration or as a component of iatrogenic and penetrating injuries. Diagnosis and treatment pose great challenges to the urologist especially if they are radiolucent. A common pattern of presentation is with lower urinary tract symptoms. High index of suspicion is required in patient with lower urinary symptoms. We hereby report 5 cases of foreign bodies in the urinary bladder, 2 (40%) self inflicted, 2(40%) iatrogenic and 1(20%) due to migration of the object; as well as their successful management.
CONCLUSION: Foreign bodies

Foreign body ingestion is a frequently observed condition in children. However, migration of an ingested foreign body from the gastrointestinal tract toward any abdominal organ is extremely rare. We report herein a case of a 2-year-old female patient in whom an ingested sewing needle was palpable by rectal examination and was determined to have migrated from within the sigmoid colon to outside of the lumen. The needle was surgically removed. In cases of foreign body ingestion, both physical examination and radiological follow-up should be performed.

Two cases of metallic foreign body injury to the upper limb are described. In both cases the foreign body was clearly visible on x-rays, considered to be lodged in the soft tissues, but migrated to one of the large subcutaneous veins. One subsequently migrated to the heart; the other was removed from the peripheral vein.

CONTEXT: The foreign ingestion is common occurrence but migration to pancreas is rare entity. Most of foreign bodies pass spontaneously through the anus but about 1% can perforate the wall of stomach or duodenum to reach solid organ. Pancreatic foreign body can results in fatal complication. Pancreatic foreign body can be removed endoscopically or surgically.
CASE REPORT: We are reporting a case of successful removal of pancreatic foreign body (sewing needle) by surgery.
CONCLUSION: Pancreatic foreign body is a uncommon entity and surgical removal is warranted in majority of cases.

Most ingested foreign bodies pass spontaneously through the gastrointestinal tract without incident. Sharp objects, such as fish or chicken bones, rarely perforate the bowel and migrate into adjacent soft tissues. A 36-year-old man presented with a 4-day history of worsening left perianal and buttock pain that began during defecation. Computed tomography revealed a linear foreign body in the left ischiorectal fossa. An initial ultrasound-guided retrieval attempt failed because the foreign body could not be confidently visualized on the scan. Subsequent anorectal examination under anesthesia an

BACKGROUND: Foreign bodies within the pleura and pancreas are infrequent, and the approaches to their treatment still a subject of debate. There is limited knowledge particularly regarding glass foreign bodies.
METHODS: We present a case involving large glass splinters in the pleura and pancreas, with an unknown entry point. In addition, a systematic review was conducted to explore entry hypotheses and management options.
RESULTS: In addition to our case, our review uncovered eight incidents of intrapleural glass, and another eight cases of glass in other intrathoracic areas. The fragments e

CASE SUMMARY: An unusual case of an intraocular linear foreign body that migrated from the oral cavity, causing a severe endophthalmitis, in a cat is described. A 2-year-old female domestic shorthair cat presented with signs of infection from the left eye that had begun 2 weeks previously. Despite having been prescribed oral and topical antibiotics, there was a progressive worsening of the clinical signs. On ophthalmic examination the cat presented with severe endophthalmitis, secondary glaucoma and exposure keratitis of the left eye. Radiography demonstrated the presence of an intraocular lin

Foreign body ingestion is a common problem in children, but it is also seen among adults. Most foreign bodies pass through the gastrointestinal tract without causing complications. Perforation of the gut by a foreign body, followed by migration of the foreign body to the liver is quite rare. Herein we report a case of inadvertent ingestion of a sewing needle that perforated the duodenum and migrated to the liver. The patient was monitored weekly with abdominal radiographs, but displacement of the needle could not be observed. At follow-up, right upper quadrant pain was noted. Two weeks later,

It is uncommon to find an iatrogenic foreign body after thoracic surgery. We present a case of migration of a surgical sponge left inadvertently in the mediastinum during a troublesome mediastinoscopy, that migrated into the trachea 6 years later with airway obstruction. The foreign body was extracted through rigid bronchoscopy and the patient had a full recovery.

INTRODUCTION: Foreign bodies in the esophagus are considered to be a life-threatening condition in adults and children because of esophageal perforation, chemical pneumonitis, airway obstruction, and development of a fistula, leading to high morbidity and mortality with this condition. Most cases present with immediate symptoms. However, in rare cases, the foreign body can migrate within the tissues and become symptomatic at a later date.
CASE REPORT: We report a rare case of a foreign body in the esophagus following fishmeal ingestion. The foreign body had traversed the lumen of the esophagu

BACKGROUND: Esophageal foreign bodies represent a common clinical emergency. Sharp foreign bodies, such as fish bones, carry a risk of esophageal perforation and subsequent severe complications. Extraluminal migration into the thoracic cavity is an uncommon but clinically significant occurrence. CASE PRESENTATION: A 58-year-old male presented with a 6-hour history of fish bone ingestion. Initial chest computed tomography (CT) demonstrated an esophageal foreign body with associated perforation; however, rigid esophagoscopy was unsuccessful in localizing the object. Follow-up contrast-enhanced C

BACKGROUND: Foreign body ingestion is a common emergency in clinical practice. While the majority of cases are resolved following successful removal, rare and unexpected complications can arise, such as the spontaneous displacement of a foreign body during the procedure. This report describes a unique case where a foreign body initially lodged in the esophagus was dropped during the procedure, leading to aspiration and migration to the airway.
CASE SUMMARY: A 69-year-old Chinese woman presented with a 6-hour history of throat pain and tightness after consuming rabbit meat. She had no fever or

UNLABELLED: Head injuries are often associated with intracranial foreign bodies that require decision making on the need for certain surgical treatment. Intraventricular foreign bodies are rare, so the question of surgical tactics is still open.
OBJECTIVE: To summarize the experience of treating the wounded with intraventricular foreign bodies.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Treatment outcomes in victims with foreign bodies in lateral ventricles are presented. Searching in the e-Library, PubMed, Google Scholar databases included the following keywords: «penetrating wounds», «foreign bodies», «cerebra

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES: Foreign body oesophagus is a commonly seen emergency in ENT. It is seen both in children and adults. When sharp bony foreign bodies such as chicken, fish, and mutton bone gets impacted in the oesophagus, it predisposes the patient to various complications. The foreign body can migrate extraluminally with time and cause retropharyngeal abscess.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospective study over a period of 6 months from November 2019 to April 2020 of patients with foreign body oesophagus. We came across 20 patients with oesophageal foreign bodies and five of them had

Foreign body ingestion is not an uncommon problem encountered in clinical practice. However, the associated complication of bowel perforation and migration of the foreign body to the liver is rare. We report two cases of hepatic foreign bodies identified intra-operatively as toothpicks, with the alimentary tract being the presumed origin.

The long-term course of bronchial foreign body retention is unknown. This article reports 2 cases with late diagnosis and their progression. In the first case, a transcutaneous eviction of the foreign body occurred. Migration through the lung and the muscular wall might have been facilitated by cough and the elongated shape of the foreign body. In the second case, retention of the foreign body produced bronchiectasis. Given the impossibility of extraction and the localized, symptomatic, and invalidating lung complications, lobectomy was performed. Surgical indications after foreign body inhala
