Unexpected visual evoked responses (VERs) were recorded in 5 subjects with tumoral, ischemic or hemorrhagic lesions of the retrochiasmatic visual pathways. The flash pattern stimulation was always binocular and involved full-field and half-field stimuli. In these 5 cases, the total field VER was asymmetrical with anomalies on the affected occipital region. However half-field VERs P100 contralateral to the stimulus were noted both on the normal and on the affected occipital region. One can ask if this is not an electrophysiological equivalent of the clinical relative hemianopsia.

Prolactinomas are benign tumors that make up the majority of all pituitary adenoma cases and present most commonly in women. OBJECTIVE: Ophthalmic artery aneurysms with medial and superior projection in exceptionally rare cases can split the optic nerve. Treatment of these aneurysms is challenging, because the aneurysm dome is hidden from the optic nerve, rendering its visualization and clipping confirmation difficult. To optimize orientation and operative exposure for aggressive resection, the authors approached pineal region tumors transtentorially with the patient in a semisitting position. A 25 year old woman had galactorrhea and secondary amenorrhea since her first pregnancy at 20 years. After several treatments with Clomiphene, menses reappeared for 2 months and she became pregnant. At admission, she was in her 4th pregnancy month and had headaches and bitemporal hemianopsia. Hypophysectomy was performed during 5th pregnancy month. Prolactin adenoma with hemorragic lesions was found. Parturition of normal twins occurred 8th month. A case of an amnestic syndrome caused by a subcortical haematoma in the right occipital lobe is reported. A 62-year-old right-handed man presented with a sudden onset of headache to the hospital. On admission, he had a left homonymous hemianopsia, disorientation and recent memory disturbance, but had normal remote memory and digit span. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a subcortical haematoma in the right occipital lobe. These findings suggest that the patient's amnesia was caused by a lesion of the retrosplenial region in the non-dominant hemisphere.

Postoperative stroke after cardiac surgery is often a lethal complication. Herein, we report on a patient who suffered space-occupying ischemic stroke after surgical treatment of type A aortic dissection. We report the case of a 30-year-old woman with no relevant medical history who presented with a new-onset headache associated with nausea, vomiting, photophobia, phonophobia, and right nasal hemianopsia.
