Lymphatic malformation/lymphangioma of the scrotum is rare. It is caused by lymphatic abnormalities and the most common sites are the neck and axilla. The scrotum is one of the most uncommon sites. We report the case of a 12-year-old boy with pathologically confirmed cystic lymphangioma/lymphatic malformation in the scrotum. The diagnosis was suspected from ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging. INTRODUCTION: Lymphangioma circumscriptum is a rare benign skin disorder involving hamartomatous lymphatic malformation of deep dermal and subcutaneous lymphatic channels. It is a therapeutic challenge for the dermatologist when it occurs at common sites such as axilla, shoulder, groin and buttocks and a diagnostic challenge for the surgeon when it occurs at rare sites such as the scrotum. Surgical treatment is the most commonly used method to treat scrotal lymphangioma circumscriptum but there are high rates of recurrence.

Lymphangioma are rare benign lesions of the lymphatic vessels, found mainly in the head and neck. Almost all cases of macroglossia in young children are caused by lymphangioma of the tongue. Aesthetic, occlusal, functional and psychosocial problems may arise as a result of this condition. The preferred treatment is surgery but in some cases sclerosant therapy may be used as an adjunct treatment. We report a case of lymphangioma of the tongue with macroglossia that was treated successfully with a Vshaped anterior glossectomy and discuss the surgical considerations.

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the methods of surgical treatment and their timing choices of cervical lymphangioma.
METHODS: A retrospective review of 53 patients with cervicofacial lymphangioma were treated surgically from July 1990 to December 2008. The age at operation was from 6.5 months to 41 years old (median age was 2 years old and 3 months). A 67-year-old man presented with a multilobulated, soft lesion at the tip of the tongue, causing articulation problem. The patient stated that it had been present for more than 30 years. Oral examination showed a multilobular mass with a large base, 15 x 15 x 10 mm in size. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a multilocular cystic tumor. The patient underwent total excision. After surgery, tongue movement and sensation were normal. Histopathologic diagnosis was cystic lymphangioma.

We report a case of lymphangioma circumscriptum of the penis in a 19-year-old male. The lesions developed during puberty and resembled molluscum contagiosum and genital herpes. BACKGROUND: Cavernous lymphangioma is a form of benign congenital abnormality grouped under lymphatic malformations, which can clinically manifest as a cystic tumor. Common areas are the neck and axillary region. Most cases are diagnosed in children under the age of 2, and occasionally the diagnosis is made in utero.

Lymphangioma of the fallopian tube is very rare. Only one such case has been reported. A 30-years-old female with lymphangioma of the left fallopian tube is described here. Lymphangioma of the tongue is relatively rare and may cause facial structural deformity. Using a combination of a V-shaped and central resection, we successfully treated a 6-year-old girl who had massive lymphangioma of the tongue. Postoperatively, her tongue was located completely within her mouth with good cosmetic results. Sensory and motor nerves to the tongue appeared to be intact. Her speech was also improved.

In this paper we present a case of a 6-year-old child who presented with Ludwig's angina caused by an infected tongue base lymphangioma. We provide a literature review of tongue lymphangioma and Ludwig's angina in the paediatric population. Both Ludwig's angina and tongue base lymphangioma are rare conditions in their own right and a combination of the two has not previously been described in the literature.
