Factors influencing Chongqing nurses' HPV vaccination: a cross-sectional survey based on the 5C model.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the key factors influencing HPV vaccination behavior among nurses in Chongqing, China, based on the 5C psychological antecedents model. METHODS: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 550 nurses from public hospitals in Chongqing between April 2024 and July 2024 via an online questionnaire. A combination of convenience and snowball sampling was employed. The instrument gathered demographic data, HPV vaccination status, and responses to the 5C scale (Confidence, Complacency, Constraints, Calculation, and Collective Responsibility). RESULTS: The

Media discourse on physician assistant nurses in South Korea: a text network and topic modeling approach.

PURPOSE: This study quantitatively examined the portrayal of physician assistant (PA) nurses in Korean media by integrating text network analysis with latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic modeling. METHODS: A total of 3,564 news articles published by nine major Korean media outlets between 2020 and 2024 were analyzed. Content analysis was conducted using term frequency-inverse document frequency calculations, network centrality analysis, and LDA topic modeling to extract key terms, map discourse structures, and identify latent topics. RESULTS: The analysis identified four primary topics i

An Artificial Intelligence-Based Probabilistic Forecasting Model for Predicting Nursing Workforce Demand in Hospital Units.

Appropriate nurse staffing is a critical challenge for healthcare delivery institutions, that can affect the delivery of quality patient care. Reliable forecasting of nursing demand can optimize resource utilization and support preemptive hiring strategies; however, the use of advanced machine learning approaches to address this challenge has been limited thus far. We propose a probabilistic forecasting approach for predicting nursing workforce demand across multiple hospital units using DeepAR, an autoregressive recurrent neural network algorithm. We analyzed 5-year historical workforce data

OBJECTIVES: This integrative review aimed to examine and synthesize existing empirical evidence on nurse-led clinics (NLCs) in primary care settings, with a focus on models of care implemented globally. METHODS: The review adhered to PRISMA guidelines, with rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria applied. A systematic search was conducted across the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Medline via EBSCO, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and bibliographic databases for studies published between 2014 and 2024. Eligible studies included original, peer-reviewed research focused on nurse-led or nurse-managed

The effect of neuroticism on mobile phone addiction among undergraduate nursing students: a moderated mediation model.

BACKGROUND: Mobile phone addiction (MPA) has numerous deleterious effects on college students, including depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, and sleep disorders. Undergraduate nursing students play a crucial role as a significant reserve workforce in clinical nursing practice, and their compromised mental health status significantly influences the quality of nursing work and nurse-patient relationships in the future. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to investigate the associations between neuroticism and MPA among undergraduate nursing students, the mediating effect of self-control and the

Externalized nurse-led model for hepatitis C virus microelimination and impact of drug use profile.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Direct-acting antivirals have greatly simplified the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV), yet circuits that bring diagnosis and treatment closer to people who inject drugs (PWID) are needed to achieve the elimination targets of the WHO. With this purpose we have established an externalized nurse-driven circuit among former and active PWID in an addiction centre (AC) and a harm reduction centre (HRC). METHODS AND SETTINGS: The nursing staff offered HCV screening, diagnosis and treatment to the AC and HRC users, administered medication after the hepatologist's remote

The impact of a medically directed student registered nurse anesthesia staffing model on Postprocedural patient outcomes.

STUDY OBJECTIVE: In 2018, the American Society of Anesthesiologists stated that student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) "are not yet fully qualified anesthesia personnel." It remains unclear, however, whether postprocedural outcomes are affected by SRNAs providing anesthesia care under the medical direction of anesthesiologists, as compared with medically directed anesthesiology fellows or residents, or certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs). We therefore aimed to examine whether medically directed SRNAs serving as in-room anesthesia providers impact surgical outcomes. DESIGN:

Modelling the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Specialist Nurse Workforce Standards by Determination of Optimum Caseloads in the UK.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are the most common forms of inflammatory bowel disease [IBD], affecting 1 in 250 of the population in the UK. It is accepted that access to a specialist nurse service improves patient experience and outcome. National Standards for the Healthcare of People Who Have Inflammatory Bowel Disease [2013] defined the number of nurse specialists required at 1.5 full time equivalent per 250000 population. The aim of this study was to determine if these standards were being met and to publish a new, robust, validated standard optimising the UK

A nurse-coordinated model of care versus usual care for chronic kidney disease: meta-analysis.

AIM: To investigate whether a nurse-led care was more beneficial for implementing chronic kidney disease guidelines and improved multiple risk factors compared with the usual care. BACKGROUND: Several independent clinical trials have been carried out to demonstrate the efficiency of a nurse-led care to improve the outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease and address the risk factors for renal function decline. However, their results and conclusions were inconsistent. METHODS: A meta-analysis was carried out on September 2015 based on previous studies that evaluated the efficiency of

Nurses' practice environment and work-family conflict in relation to burn out: a multilevel modelling approach.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate associations between nurse work practice environment measured at department level and individual level work-family conflict on burnout, measured as emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment among Swedish RNs. METHODS: A multilevel model was fit with the individual RN at the 1st, and the hospital department at the 2nd level using cross-sectional RN survey data from the Swedish part of RN4CAST, an EU 7th framework project. The data analysed here is based on a national sample of 8,620 RNs from 369 departments in 53 hospitals. RESULTS: General

Can AI grade like a nurse educator? Benchmarking large language models for automated scoring of open-ended assessments in nursing education: A descriptive cross-sectional study.

BACKGROUND: Open-ended, case-based assessments are essential for evaluating clinical reasoning in nursing education, yet their high-scoring burden limits their widespread use, particularly in large cohorts. Large language models (LLMs) may reduce this barrier, but empirical evidence in nursing education remains scarce. OBJECTIVES: To examine the agreement between rubric-guided LLM scoring and academic consensus, evaluate the consistency of LLM scoring across repeated runs, and explore implications for educator workload and assessment scalability in undergraduate women's health nursing educati

The role of a modified emergency nursing pathway based on the shared decision-making model in alteplase thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke: A study on establishing an emergency department nursing system.

This study aimed to analyze the effect of a modified emergency nursing pathway based on the shared decision-making model during alteplase thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke and provide a reference for establishing a nursing system in the emergency department. Eighty patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with alteplase thrombolysis in our hospital from October 2023 to August 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a control group (receiving conventional emergency care) and an observation group (receiving the modified emergency nursing pathway based on the shar
