Pseudomyxoma peritonei(PMP)is a rare condition caused by intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN). At our institution, 3 cases, along with literature review, of PMP caused by IPMN were treated with cytoreductive surgery. In case 1, a 70-year-old man was pathologically diagnosed with low-grade PMP with intraductal papillary mucinous carcinoma. Recurrence was discovered 68 months after surgery, and the patient died after 78 months. In case 2, a 69-year-old man was pathologically diagnosed with high-grade PMP with signet-ring cell carcinoma caused by intraductal papillary mucinous carcinoma.

Uncoated intraocular lenses caused extensive corneal endothelial cell damage after in vitro contact (mean, 30.9% cell loss), whereas lenses coated with bovine submaxillary mucin type 1 caused minimal cell loss (mean 4.3%). No observable in vivo toxicity in the eye occurred when 0.1 ml of 3, 6, or 9% solution was injected into the anterior chamber. Mucin-coated lenses can be sterilized by ethylene oxide with no measurable adsorbence into the coating. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the results from vital staining.

Endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma is a rare skin tumor that most commonly involves the eyelid of elderly women. Morphologically and immunohistochemically, it is analogous to endocrine ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast and mammary solid papillary carcinoma; also, like the analogous breast lesion, there is an often associated invasive mucinous carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation. We describe the case of a 65-year-old woman with endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma of the eyelid that recurred 3 years after an apparently complete excision.

A case of villous adenoma of the urinary bladder is described. The patient, a 57-year-old Chinese male, presented with a long-term history of urethral stricture disease secondary to gonorrhea urethritis. On cystoscopic examination, a mucin-secreting papillary tumor, measuring 3 x 2 cm was noted at the bladder neck. Microscopically, there were papillary fronds of mucin-secreting columnar cells with varying degrees of piling up. The relationships between chronic irritation of the urinary bladder, cystitis glandularis, intestinal metaplasia, villous adenoma and adenocarcinoma were discussed.

OBJECTIVE: Adjustment of diagnostics and management of the surgical treatment of patients with intraductal papillary mucinous tumor of pancreas.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: From 2012 to 2018, 45 patients with intraductal papillary mucinous tumor were observed. During the observation the ultrasound examination, contrast-enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance tomography with contrast were used.
