Comparative effectiveness of external therapies of traditional Chinese medicine and surgical treatments in pain management of postherpetic neuralgia: A protocol for a systematic review and network meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: As the most common long-term complication of herpes zoster (HZ), postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is characterized by chronic, persistent, and debilitating neuropathic pain. PHN seriously harms human health and currently becomes a topic of clinical importance. To date, the common methods of pain management in PHN include external therapies of traditional Chinese medicine and surgical treatments. However, there is no high-quality or direct evidence of their comparative effectiveness. This review aims to provide a network meta-analysis to compare the efficacy of external therapies of tra

Efficacy of left ventricular unloading strategies during venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in patients with cardiogenic shock: a protocol for a systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis.

INTRODUCTION: Venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) has been widely used for patients with refractory cardiogenic shock. A common side effect of this technic is the resultant increase in left ventricular (LV) afterload which could potentially aggravate myocardial ischaemia, delay ventricular recovery and increase the risk of pulmonary congestion. Several LV unloading strategies have been proposed and implemented to mitigate these complications. However, it is still indistinct that which one is the best choice for clinical application. This Bayesian network meta-analysis (N

Gastrointestinal bleeding prophylaxis for critically ill patients: a clinical practice guideline.

CLINICAL QUESTION: What is the role of gastrointestinal bleeding prophylaxis (stress ulcer prophylaxis) in critically ill patients? This guideline was prompted by the publication of a new large randomised controlled trial. CURRENT PRACTICE: Gastric acid suppression with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) or histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2RAs) is commonly done to prevent gastrointestinal bleeding in critically ill patients. Existing guidelines vary in their recommendations of which population to treat and which agent to use. RECOMMENDATIONS: This guideline panel makes a weak recommendation fo

Systematic review and network meta-analysis of interventions for adults with simple obesity: Study protocol.

Obesity has become a major global public health challenge, and its rising prevalence contributes to substantial health and economic burdens. Existing systematic reviews are largely confined to a single intervention category or to mixed populations, which limits targeted recommendations for adults in whom obesity itself, rather than an established metabolic comorbidity, is the principal clinical concern. This protocol describes a systematic review and network meta-analysis comparing dietary, physical activity, behavioural and pharmacological interventions in adults with simple obesity, pragmati

Comparative Efficacy and Acceptability of Transdiagnostic Psychotherapies for Emotional Disorders: Protocol for a Network Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

BACKGROUND: Emotional disorders-primarily anxiety and unipolar depressive disorders-are highly prevalent, disabling, and frequently comorbid. Disorder‑specific cognitive behavioral therapy (DS‑CBT) is considered a gold standard treatment, yet it can be inefficient in the context of high comorbidity and service constraints. Transdiagnostic psychotherapies that target shared maintaining mechanisms (eg, emotion dysregulation and neuroticism) have been developed, including the Unified Protocol, transdiagnostic behavior therapy, emotion regulation therapy, and various transdiagnostic internet-deliv

Comparative effectiveness of community-based rehabilitation programs on functional recovery after hip fracture in older adults: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Community-based rehabilitation is critical for functional recovery in older adults after hip fracture, yet the optimal strategy remains uncertain. Previous reviews are limited by the pooling of heterogeneous interventions and an incomplete assessment of evidence quality. This network meta-analysis (NMA) aimed to compare the effectiveness of different community-based rehabilitation programs and, critically, to formally assess the certainty of the evidence. METHODS: We conducted a systematic review and NMA of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from four electronic databases up to A

INTRODUCTION: Post-stroke movement disorders are common, especially upper limb dysfunction, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of stroke patients. With the continuous development of intelligent technology, robot-assisted therapy has become a research hotspot in the upper limb rehabilitation of stroke patients in recent years. Many scholars have also integrated robot-assisted therapy with other interventions to improve rehabilitation outcomes. However, there is a lack of research to determine which auxiliary intervention is the best. Therefore, this protocol aims to guide th
