Personal, work-related, and user-related burnout among caregivers in long-term care facilities for older adults in Chile: The role of professional quality of life.

This study examines professional quality of life (ProQOL) and its association with burnout among caregivers of older adults working in long-term care facilities (Establecimientos de Larga Estadía para Adultos Mayores, ELEAM) in Chile. How design ability anxiety leads to design students' dependence on artificial intelligence? Internship and professional identity, feedback and evaluation mechanisms, and the role of innovative mindset.

AI-Generated Design (AIGD) is a technique that uses deep learning algorithms to generate realistic images. It can create new images from scratch or generate images of a specific style, style or theme based on a given input. The emergence of this technology has disrupted not only traditional design work but also the field of design education. The use of AI-Generated Design (AIGD) by design students to cope with their academic work has been prevalent since its emergence. However, the intervention of AI technology in the field of pedagogy has a double-sided effect; the growing popularity of this

Complementary feeding methods or gaps in professional guidance? A commentary on the role of baby-led weaning in iron-deficiency anaemia and foreign body aspiration in infants.

The growing popularity of baby-led weaning has generated ongoing debate regarding its nutritional adequacy and safety, particularly in relation to iron-deficiency anaemia and choking. This commentary discusses findings from a recent retrospective study published in Appetite and argues that observed risks may be less related to feeding methods themselves and more reflective of gaps in professional guidance and inconsistencies in real-world implementation. By shifting the focus from method-based comparisons to feeding practices and clinical support, this commentary highlights the importance of p

Illegitimate tasks and work role performance among engineering consulting professionals: integrating work-family boundary and cognitive-affective personality system theories.

INTRODUCTION: Professionals are often required to perform tasks they regard as unnecessary or inconsistent with their legitimate responsibilities. Although research has linked such illegitimate tasks to adverse work outcomes, less is known about how they are associated with employees' appraisal of the work-nonwork interface, motivational investment, and work role performance, or how leadership conditions this process. Drawing primarily on cognitive-affective personality system (CAPS) theory, we propose that illegitimate tasks operate as situational stimuli that activate employees' work-life ba

How can a community of practice support healthcare professionals navigating new roles? a case study of genetic counsellors employed to work in medical specialities.

BACKGROUND: Communities of Practice (CoPs) have been implemented in healthcare settings to enhance knowledge translation and facilitate the implementation of new practices. However, their role in supporting healthcare professionals transitioning to new environments remains under-researched. This study examines a CoP designed for genetic health professionals in Australia who were employed to support the integration of genomics in medical specialities. Informed by the i-PARIHS framework, we explore how the facilitation of a CoP external to the implementation setting can support health profession

Perceived social support and professional identity in nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic era: the mediating effects of self-efficacy and the moderating role of anxiety.

BACKGROUND: Health professionals, including nurses, experienced heavy workloads and significant physical and mental health challenges during the coronavirus disease (COVID) 19 pandemic, which may affect career choices for those considering nursing and for nursing students. The COVID-19 pandemic is not only a period of risk, but also an occasion to redeploy the professional identity (PI) of nursing students. However, the relationship between perceived social support (PSS), self-efficacy (SE), PI and anxiety remains unclear under the background of COVID-19. This study aims to explore whether PSS

Exploration into the opinions of patients with HIV, healthcare professionals and the lay public of the use of microneedles in clinical practice: highlighting the translational potential for their role in HIV infection.

Poor adherence to oral antiretroviral therapy (ART) remains an important challenge in the treatment of HIV. Microneedles (MN) potentially could offer a non-invasive long-acting (LA) delivery approach, avoiding the need for daily dosing of ART. However, this claim has yet to be explored amongst its potential end-users. The aim of this mixed methods study was to investigate the perspectives from various end-users surrounding the translation of MN technology to general clinical practice, with a particular focus on delivery of ART. Quantitative postal questionnaires were distributed amongst health

Role of Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter 2 Inhibitors in Chronic Kidney Disease, Congestive Heart Failure and Stroke-A Review and Clinical Guide for Healthcare Professionals.

Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) causes a progressive decline in renal function, leading to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), and increases the likelihood of cardiovascular events and mortality. The recent introduction of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor has been a game changer in managing chronic kidney disease (CKD) and congestive heart failure (CHF). These agents not only slow down the progression of kidney disease but also have cardioprotective benefits, including for patients with congestive heart failure and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Some evidence suggests

[Impact of physical activity and meditation on the clinical improvement of military personnel suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder: Focus on the role of attachment style and professional reintegration].

INTRODUCTION: Military personnel are frequently exposed to traumatic situations that can lead to chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD complicates their reintegration due to the high risk of retraumatization. To support the reintegration of injured servicemen and women, the army has developed the Omega program which includes courses at the Centre des Blessés de l'Armée de Terre (CReBAT). These courses combine physical activity and reintegration workshops to which mindfulness meditation exercises have been integrated, notably through diving. The voluntary involvement of participan
