Patients' and professionals' experiences with remote care during COVID-19: a qualitative study in general practices in low-income neighborhoods.

AIM: To explore how patients and general practice professionals in low-income neighborhoods experienced the increase of remote care during COVID-19. BACKGROUND: As the GP (general practitioner) is the first point of contact in Dutch health care, there are concerns about access to remote care for patients from low-income neighborhoods. Now that general practice professionals have returned to the pre-pandemic ways of healthcare delivery, this paper looks back at experiences with remote care during COVID-19. It investigates experiences of both patients and general practice professionals with the

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on psychotropic prescribing: a systematic review.

OBJECTIVES: The global prevalence of mental health disorders has risen significantly since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has additionally caused disruption to mental health services, leading to a shift from in-person to remote service delivery. Given its long-term impact, it has become critical to evaluate whether changes in health delivery during the pandemic have had an effect on prescribing patterns for commonly prescribed psychotropic drugs. This study aims to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on changes in psychotropic prescribing patterns in adults, as wel

[Aspects of the use of medical devices for remote patient monitoring].

In the Russian Federation, it is legally determined that telemedicine technologies are considered as any actions with any data obtained during a remote communication between doctors (councils, consultations), remote medical patient monitoring, including using medical devices. Medical devices with a function of remote transmission of the measurement data are used to detect diseases in some workers that impede their duty performance. There are hardly any publications on the experience of using such devices in other aspects of medical care. The issue of medical devices enhanced with remote data t

Paediatric telecardiology in Canada.

Telemedicine is now an integral part of regular clinical and educational activity in Canadian paediatric cardiac centres. Transmission of echocardiograms is available to most paediatric cardiology centres from regional hospitals, allowing cardiac diagnosis at a distance. Teleconferencing networks are in frequent use for educational purposes, case conferencing and consultation with families. Teleauscultation is being investigated for remote screening of murmurs in children.

Impact of digital interdisciplinary consultation on secondary care referrals by general practitioners: a protocol for a stepped-wedge cluster randomised controlled trial.

INTRODUCTION: Optimal collaboration between general practice and hospital care is crucial to maintain affordable and sustainable access to healthcare for the entire population. General practitioners (GPs) are the gatekeepers to specialist care and patients will visit hospitals mostly only after referral. However, a substantial part of these referrals may be inappropriate, as communication between GPs and medical specialists can be challenging and referring patients may be the most obvious action for a GP to perform.A new digital platform (Prisma) connects GPs and specialists in interdisciplina
