Multiplanar posterior pelvic ring instabilities are severe injuries and typically occur in the os ilium, the sacroiliac joint, the sacrum and/or in a combination of these sites. They pose challenges to the orthopedic trauma surgeon during reconstruction, particularly when these injuries are associated with multiplanar sacral fractures and involvement of the lumbosacral junction. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of resection of sacrum and TSRH-3 d internal fixation of the pelvis in treatment of lumbo-sacral tuberculosis.
METHODS: twenty-eight cases with lumbo-sacral tuberculosis, including 17 cases in L5 approximately S1, 11 cases in L5 approximately S2, 4 cases in L5 approximately S3, 4 cases in S(1 approximately 3)2; underwent resection of sacrum and TSRH-3 d internal fixation of the pelvis, followed by corresponding chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Simulating fractures using CT-based bone models enables personalized treatment. BACKGROUND: The aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign, but locally aggressive cystic lesion of the bone. It usually occurs in the metaphysis of long bones of adolescents and young adults but can also affect the pelvis.

BACKGROUND/AIM: Radiotherapy for carcinoma invasion of the sacrum (CIS) is an alternative treatment to surgery in patients with advanced, inoperable tumors or those not medically eligible for resection of the neoplasm. UNLABELLED: Pilonidal cyst disease mainly concerns young people, aged between 16 and 25 years. A 36-year-old male nonsmoker with fever, dyspnea, and cough of 2 weeks' duration presented to the emergency department. He reported left pleuritic chest pain and weight loss for the last 2 months. Chest radiology revealed a left lower lobe mass, a liver lesion, and bony destruction of right sacrum and ribs. Flexible bronchoscopy (FB) revealed an endobronchial (EB) tumorous lesion with cheesy material occluding the left lower lobe. Biopsies and cultures of the lung and rib lesions supported the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB). Antituberculous therapy was started with rapid clinical improvement.
