Two unusual ovarian tumours thought to be of Wolffian identity, one of them malignant, are described. They showed packed combinations of adenopapillary, tubular, trabecular and diffuse patterns, a sharp and generalised periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)-positive basement membrane and areas of elastic network. A review of published Wolffian tumours at various sites suggests that the prototypes of the two tumours occur chiefly in the cervix and broad ligament. The significance of Wolffian tumours and their differentiation from arrhenoblastoma and serous tumours is discussed.

This is a report of a 31-year-old woman with unilateral vision loss due to serous retinal detachment and schisis-like changes associated with an optic disc pit. The patient was initially observed but worsened clinically and underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling, laser photocoagulation, and removal of an optic pit plug. Kranenburg's syndrome is defined as central serous detachment associated with an optic disc pit. We report the interesting and very seldom combination of Kranenburg's syndrome and iris-retinochoroidal-coloboma. Reattachment was achieved after vitrectomy, peeling of epiretinal membranes, laser coagulation adjacent and temporal to the optic disc and gas endotamponade. Coincidence of this syndrome with an iris-retinochoroidal-coloboma is extremely rare. Both coloboma and optic disc pit are based on closure defects during week 6 of embryogenesis.

We describe a unique case of brain metastases presenting as first symptom of a malignant mesothelioma (MM). MM is a highly aggressive tumor of the serous membrane that is generally believed to be rarely metastasizing. Recently, the reports of long surviving cases and larger literature reviews have suggested that cerebral metastases are not so uncommon. An extensive histochemical and immunohistochemical panel is needed to achieve a correct differential diagnosis, especially in the epithelioid type. Pathologists should be aware that brain metastases could have a mesothelial origin.

We studied 40 patients with the presumed ocular histoplasmosis triad for ten to 15 years. Another patient developed the choroidal features of the syndrome in previously normal eyes. The basic lesion is a nodular choroidal infiltrate that evolves from clinically and angiographically normal retina. It is initially hypofluorescent and has an overlying serous detachment.
