PURPOSE: In this study, we present our observations on changes in the surface temperature of the cornea, eye, and orbital cavity after cataract surgery.
METHODS: A total of 39 patients who underwent cataract surgery based on phacoemulsification were enrolled. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to systematically review the scientific efficacy of infrared thermography (IT) on the diagnosis of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs).
STUDY DESIGN: An electronic search was performed in 8 databases for publications up to May 2018. Additionally, a hand search of the reference lists was conducted. There were no restrictions on language or on year of publication. Two independent reviewers selected the studies, reviewed the abstract information, and assessed the quality. The methodology of the included articles was evaluated by using the QUADAS-2 tool.

INTRODUCTION: Infrared imaging (IR) is a noninvasive technique that quantifies body surface temperature, producing a digital color image. IR has been used to study diseases in which skin temperature can reflect the presence of inflammation.
METHODS: This was an observational pilot study of eight patients envenomed by snakes, spiders, and scorpions. All patients were examined using a thermal camera.
RESULTS: In all cases, we obtained infrared images that corroborated clinical findings indicating localized effects of venom, specifically inflammation.

In combination with X-ray mammography and clinical examination thermography adds to the accuracy of breast cancer diagnosis. Thermographic examinations can be repeated at short intervals with no radiation hazard to the patient. However, performing and interpreting thermograms requires meticulous training. Irritant dermatitis after application of experimental irritants was studied by means of contact thermography. Sixteen healthy persons were patch-tested, using the following irritants: Sodium lauryl sulphate, benzalkonium chloride, nonanoic acid, hydrochloric acid, croton oil, sapo kalinus and sodium hydroxide. A main finding was that croton oil after 24 h caused a warm skin lesion, and sodium lauryl sulphate after 96 h caused a cold skin lesion. This study emphasizes the differences in the skin reactions to different irritants.
