Recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV) was recommended in 2020 in the US for adults aged ≥50 years. This retrospective study used cross-sectional data from 2020 National Health Interview Survey respondents aged ≥50 years. Sample weights were applied to allow results to be representative of the non-institutionalized US population. Associations between respondent characteristics and coverage were explored using logistic regression. An estimated 14.1% of US adults aged ≥50 years had received ≥1 dose of RZV by 2020. Coverage varied by race and ethnicity (6.3% Hispanic, 6.9% Black/African American, 13.7%

ARTICLE HISTORY: Following the refugee crisis in Lebanon, the on-going inflow of Syrian refugees presented new challenges to optimal immunization coverage for all the children living in the country. Healthcare facilities have been overburdened during this period and the country witnessed outbreaks of many infectious diseases. Thus, the evaluation of vaccine compliance for mandatory and non-mandatory vaccines as well as the factors affecting the vaccination rate among Lebanese residents and Syrian refugees is fundamental.
BACKGROUND: Since 2012, Lebanon has hosted around 1.2 million Syrian ref

BACKGROUND: Low human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage is an urgent public health problem requiring action. To identify policy remedies to suboptimal HPV vaccination, we assessed the relationship between states' school entry requirements and adolescent vaccination.
METHODS: We gathered data on states' school entry requirements for adolescent vaccination (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis [Tdap] booster; meningococcal; and HPV) from 2007 to 2012 from Immunization Action Coalition. The National Immunization Survey-Teen provided medical record-verified vaccination data for 99 921 adole

BACKGROUND: During late 2012 and early 2013 several outbreaks of diphtheria were notified in the North of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The aim of this study was to determine whether the re-emergence of this vaccine-preventable disease was due to insufficient vaccination coverage or reduction of vaccine effectiveness within the affected regions.
METHODS: A serosurvey was conducted in the Huaphan Province on a cluster sampling of 132 children aged 12-59 months. Serum samples, socio-demographic data, nutritional status and vaccination history were collected when available. Anti-diphther

BACKGROUNDS: Recent reports have pointed the low vaccine coverage in patients with chronic diseases. Data are lacking in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Gaining more information on coverage both for mandatory vaccines and those more specifically recommended would help to optimize care of these patients.
METHODS: Data were extracted from the "MucoFlu" study, which was a prospective study performed in 2009 in the 5 cystic fibrosis centers of the Paris metropolitan area. Data on mandatory and recommended vaccines in CF were collected in the health booklet and compared to the coverage of the

We present data on the access to health care services and vaccination coverage of a sample of children born to Filipino mothers in the city of Barcelona (Spain). The sample was obtained by snowball sampling from the community reference centers for the identified migrant Filipino population. Access to public health care services is much lower for this population than for the whole population, which causes use of private services to compensate for this shortcoming. The causes are related to the residence and working status of a segment of this migrant population. Vaccination coverage for two and

Despite the introduction of the trivalent vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella) more than 20 years ago, measles outbreaks have occurred in Europe, including Italy, due to its underutilization. In Italy mandatory vaccination was established in 2017 (Decree Law 119/2017). This study aimed at evaluating the impact of mandatory vaccination and determining the trend in vaccination coverage for measles and rubella in Italy. We retrieved data from the Annual Status Update, a form sent annually by the Italian National Verification Committee to the Regional Verification Committee for Europe, from 1st Janua

In 2016, an outbreak of mumps occurred in a primary school in China with a student population having high vaccination coverage. An unmatched case-control study was performed to identify risk factors contributing to this outbreak, and a retrospective cohort study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of mumps-containing vaccine (MuCV). A total of 97 cases were identified during the outbreak, and the overall attack rate was 8.2%. Among students with confirmed vaccination status, 90% had received at least one dose of MuCV. Cases were more likely than non-cases to report taking the school bu

This scoping review explored human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage and barriers for people with disability. Our global search identified 33 studies, all from high-income countries, published between 2006 and 2025. We found evidence of inequalities in HPV vaccination coverage for people with disability across a range of countries, sexes/genders, settings, and disability groups. Common vaccination barriers included misassumptions around sexual activity, lack of vaccination recommendations from healthcare professionals in primarily healthcare-facility-based HPV vaccination programme set

BACKGROUND: Streptococcus pneumoniae is a widely spread human pathogen that can cause infections as severe as meningitis. The pneumococcal vaccination is the optimal approach to prevent morbidity and mortality, but the vaccination coverage is low despite several attempts to improve it. This meta-analysis assesses the impact of the interventions to increase vaccination coverage.
METHODS: A meta-analytic review and a mixed-effects meta-regression on articles between 2013 and 2023 from PubMed, Web of Science and ScienceDirect that assessed the impact of interventions on pneumococcal vaccination

BACKGROUND: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of pediatric lower respiratory tract infections worldwide, leading to substantial morbidity, hospitalizations, and healthcare costs. Maternal RSV vaccination has recently been introduced in several countries, yet in Japan its uptake remains unclear, particularly given the high out-of-pocket costs and potential socioeconomic disparities.
METHODS: We conducted a nationwide survey of women who had given birth between July 2024 and August 2025. The questionnaire assessed maternal RSV vaccination status, its affordability, and related

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: Measles is one of the most contagious human viruses and serves as an early indicator of gaps in population immunity. Despite the introduction of measles vaccination 50 years ago, Poland remains one of nine endemic countries in the WHO European Region. The aim of the study is to assess the relationship between socio-economic factors and sufficient coverage (≥95%) with the second dose of vaccination against measles (MMR2) at the poviat level in Poland from 2014 - 2018.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Data on MMR2 coverage was extracted from annual reports collected by sanitary

INTRODUCTION: The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) eliminated cost sharing for Medicare Part D-covered vaccines but did not address the cost burden faced by Medicare beneficiaries who did not have prescription drug coverage. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of beneficiaries without prescription drug coverage and to assess the association between the receipt of a herpes zoster vaccine and prescription drug coverage status.
METHODS: We used the 2019-2023 National Health Interview Survey and included Medicare beneficiaries aged 65 years and older who enrolled in both Parts A and B

PROBLEM: In 2021, Central African Republic was facing multiple challenges in vaccinating its population against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including inadequate infrastructure and funding, a shortage of health workers and vaccine hesitancy among the population.
APPROACH: To increase COVID-19 vaccination coverage, the health ministry used three main approaches: (i) task shifting to train and equip existing community health workers (CHWs) to deliver COVID-19 vaccination; (ii) evidence gathering to understand people's reluctance to be vaccinated; and (iii) bundling of COVID-19 vaccinati

The Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a well-known vaccine with almost a century of use, with the apparent capability to improve cytokine production and epigenetics changes that could develop a better response to pathogens. It has been postulated that BCG protection against SARS-CoV-2 has a potential role in the pandemic, through the presence of homologous amino acid sequences. To identify a possible link between BCG vaccination coverage and COVID-19 cases, we used official epidemic data and Ecuadorian Ministry of Health and Pan American Health Organization vaccination information. BCG informa

BACKGROUND: Vaccination coverage surveys in low- and middle-income countries typically estimate vaccination coverage using data from vaccination cards, parental recall, or a combination of the two. However, these surveys are often complicated by the pervasive absence of vaccination cards, forcing researchers to rely on parental recall. We assessed the validity of mothers' recall against home-based vaccination cards using data from a community-based household survey in Nigeria.
METHODS: A cross-sectional survey of 1,254 mothers of children aged 12-23 months was performed in Enugu State, Nigeri
