Mechanical Performance of 3D-Printed Resin Materials for Endocrown Restorations: A Comparative Evaluation of Fracture Resistance, Weibull Analysis, and Experimental Fracture Toughness.

Background and Objectives: Three-dimensional printing is increasingly used to fabricate dental restorations; however, limited evidence is available on the mechanical performance and fracture behavior of printable resin materials used for endocrown restorations. Fracture load alone may not fully describe material performance, particularly when brittle or defect-sensitive failure occurs. This in vitro study aimed to compare the fracture resistance, Weibull parameters, experimental Mode I fracture toughness parameter, and failure patterns of three 3D-printed resin materials used for endocrown res

Eco-friendly property modulation of biobased gels of carboxymethyl cellulose-integrated poly(tertiary amine)s for the removal of azo-food dyes.

Anionic polysaccharide-based gels enable the design of biobased materials with biochemical properties, non-toxic and natural origin. A new set of cationic gels was prepared from carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)-doped tertiary amino functional cationic monomers 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and N-(3-(dimethylamino)propyl) methacrylamide via the formation of semi-interpenetrated network (semi-IPN) at different polymerization temperatures, Tprep. A detailed understanding of the temperature-dependent synthesis and physicochemical response is required for the design of interpenetrating networks w

Evaluation of human dental pulp stem cells behavior on a novel nanobiocomposite scaffold prepared for regenerative endodontics.

Dental caries is a dental disease affecting public health, which results in many socio-economic consequences. This disease causes loss of tooth hard tissue and subsequent inflammation and loss of the dental pulp. In this study, it was aimed to develop and characterize boron (B) modified bioactive glass nanoparticles (BG-NPs) containing cellulose acetate/oxidized pullulan/gelatin (CA/ox-PULL/GEL) three dimensional scaffolds with tubular morphology for dentin regeneration. 3D nanobiocomposite structures were prepared by thermally induced phase separation and porogen leaching methods and characte

[Examination of the mechanical properties of zirconia and porcelain blocks after grinding with smooth and coarse diamond burrs].

UNLABELLED: Porcelain and Zirconia are widely used materials in oral rehabilitation for fixed partial dentures, FPD. Among many important properties, A FPD should be able to resist bite forces, the harsh oral environment and to remain intact for a long period of time. When coming back from the dental laboratory, the mechanical properties of the FPD are optimal. But it is not uncommon for the dentist to perform a machining procedures on the restoration in order to achieve good fitting to the prepared teeth. In most cases these modifications are made using high speed dental hand piece, and diamo

Revascularization outcomes: a prospective analysis of 16 consecutive cases.

INTRODUCTION: Recent reviews lament the lack of evidence on the efficacy of regenerative procedures to induce further root maturation despite claims of a paradigm shift in the way infected, necrotic immature teeth with arrested root development can be endodontically treated. The majority of reports are either case series or successful case reports where nonstandardized images may make interpretation uncertain. METHODS: This prospective clinical study reports on preliminary outcomes of regenerative endodontic procedures carried out on 16 teeth, 3 mandibular premolars and 13 traumatized central

The laterally closed coronally advanced flap: A case study.

BACKGROUND: Several methods have been described for treating deep Cairo Class RT1 recessions. Most involve relieving incisions, which cause scar tissue formation or use a tunneled approach. This report introduces a modified technique for treating a single deep recession beyond the mucogingival margin. The approach uses a laterally closed coronally advanced flap (LCAF) without relieving incisions, combined with a subepithelial connective tissue graft and enamel matrix derivative. METHODS: A 28-year-old woman was referred to our periodontal practice for the treatment of a progressive deep Cairo

Calcium enriched mixture cement for primary molars exhibiting root perforations and extensive root resorption: report of three cases.

In primary molars with root perforations of endodontic origin, tooth extraction and space maintainer are recommended. Calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement is a new biomaterial demonstrating favorable sealability/biocompatibility. This report presents a novel treatment modality for cases of primary molar teeth with root perforations associated with a periodontal lesion due to extensive inflammatory root resorption, whereby CEM was used as a perforation repair/pulpotomy biomaterial. Three cases of primary molar root perforations due to inflammatory resorption were selected; all cases were assoc

Non-surgical endodontic treatment for dens invaginatus type III using cone beam computed tomography and dental operating microscope: a case report.

Dens invaginatus is a morphological abnormality of the tooth in which the coronal tooth enamel and dentin fold inwards towards the pulp cavity. Dens invaginatus type III (Oehlers: 1957) is characterized by infolding of the enamel and dentin as far as the root apex. This report describes a case of surgical and non-surgical endodontic therapy for a maxillary lateral incisor with type III dens invaginatus, necrotic pulp, and an associated large periradicular lesion. The patient was a 16-year-old man. Periapical radiographs suggested the presence of an untreated area of invagination. Cone beam com

Endodontic outcome predictors identified with periapical radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography scans.

INTRODUCTION: The outcome predictors identified with data from periapical radiographs (PA) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans might not be the same. This retrospective study evaluated various factors that might affect the outcome of root canal therapy. METHODS: In total, 115 teeth (143 roots) with vital pulps were endodontically treated and followed up 2 years after treatment. Multivariate logistic regression was performed on the data from PA or CBCT to analyze outcome predictors. RESULTS: At recall, PA detected periapical lesions in 18 roots (12.6%), as compared with 37 on CBCT
