OBJECTIVE: To analyse the outcome of patients with symptomatic arterio-venous malformation (AVM), formed following pregnancy and managed by uterine artery embolization (UAE).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted after ethical approval and included 15 patients presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding following pregnancy, who were suspected to have an AVM which later was confirmed by angiography and managed with UAE. The purpose of this study was to review the outcomes of the different therapies for extracranial head and neck arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). AVMs are high-flow congenital vascular anomalies. INTRODUCTION: Soluble film automatic dishwashing tablets, unlike their traditional counterparts, require no removal from an outer protective wrapper prior to use. Instead, the tablets are enclosed by a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol film and are loaded straight into the dishwashing machine. They most commonly contain a source of hydrogen peroxide (often as sodium percarbonate) and non-ionic surfactants. Other constituents in some formulations include sodium carbonate, sodium tripolyphosphate and sodium silicate, which reduce water hardness. The pH once dissolved in water is alkaline.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the angiographic findings and embolotherapy in the management of traumatic renal arterial injury.
METHODS: This is a retrospective review of 22 patients with renal trauma who underwent arteriography and percutaneous embolization from December 1995 to January 2002. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective review was performed to identify patients with HFAVMs referred for possible intervention between 1988 and 2003. In this study, a bioink based on poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and κ-carrageenan network was prepared using conductive polymer (PEDOT:PSS) as conducting medium, and (+)-Catechin-loaded mesoporous ZnO (CmZnO) as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory active medium. 3D conductive composite dressing was further fabricated by an extrusion 3D printing technology. The effect of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions on the survival and on the morphology of zebrafish Danio rerio embryos was investigated. Embryos in different ontogenetic stages were incubated in electrolyte (NaCl, KCl, MgCl2 and CaCl2) and non-electrolyte solutions [sucrose and polyvinylalcohol (PVA)] of different concentrations for 5-15 min. Giant tumors of the chest are rare. These tumors comprise a spectrum of disease from benign lesions to highly aggressive malignant tumors with cells of origin in the pleura, pulmonary parenchyma, blood vessels, thymus, and connective tissues. We report four cases of giant tumors of the thorax treated with preoperative arterial embolization followed by complete surgical resection. Their diagnostic and treatment courses, imaging, and pathology are described.
