Preventing relapse of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-immunoglobulin G-associated disease (MOGAD) with steroids and immunosuppressants is sometimes difficult. Necropsy consistently revealed liquefactive necrosis of the ventral brain (extending from the olfactory bulb to the midbrain) and thymic atrophy.
