We have previously reported 18 cases of an ichthyosiform contact dermatitis caused by antiseptic solutions containing 3% cetrimide and 0.3% chlorhexidine. One of the main toxicities associated to intravenous administration of amphiphilic drugs is pronounced hemolytic activity. To overcome this limitation, we investigated the anti-hemolytic properties of polymeric micelles of Pluronics, triblock copolymers of poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(propylene oxide). We studied the encapsulation of the amphiphilic compound miltefosine (HePC) into polymeric micelles of Pluronics F108, F68, F127, L44, and L64. Mesoporous organosilica nanoparticles (PHT-PMO) have been prepared from an octa-triethoxysilylated Zn phthalocyanine precursor. These PHT-PMO nanoparticles had no dark toxicity but high phototoxicity when irradiated at 650 nm, and remarkable near-infrared phototoxicity when excited at 760 and 810 nm. The PHT-PMO were then aminated to promote electrostatic complexation with siRNA. Transfection experiments were performed upon NIR irradiation and photochemical internalization was very efficient, leading to 65% luciferase extinction in MCF-7 cancer cells expressing stable luciferase.

Postcopulatory genital autogrooming was studied in rats following desensitization of the glans penis due to topical application of an anesthetic ointment or to surgical transection of the dorsal penile nerve. These treatments sharply reduced the number of mounts resulting in intromission, but genital autogrooming was largely unaffected. A method of inducing tumour growth in rat and rabbit bladders is described. Tumour induction is dependent on a pre-induced cystitis. In rats, tumour also grows in the kidneys because of species characteristic vesicoureteric reflux. The possible significance is discussed in relation to the management of human bladder tumours.

A variety of amphiphilic cations caused very large increases in the rates of incorporation of Pi and glycerol into phosphatidylinositol in pig mesenteric small lymphocytes. This synthesis de novo of phosphatidylinositol led to a doubling of the phosphatidylinositol concentration in the cells within 3.5 h. A study has been made of the urinary excretion of glycosaminoglycans (GAG) in 50 patients with malignancies, including 6 patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), 11 with chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), 10 with chronic lymphatic leukaemia (CLL), 10 with multiple myeloma (MM), 7 with Hodgkin's disease and 6 with mycosis fungoides (MF). The work is devoted to the study of conditions required for the purpose of creation of standard and the most active preparations of erythrocytic H-diagnostic agents. The dependence of binding of the H-antigen by erythrocytes on the pH and the ionic power of the medium was investigated. It was demonstrated that in the process of erythrocyte sensitization with flagellin of great importance were electrostatic, hydrogen, and hydrophobic powers.

OBJECTIVE: Aim to explore the association of dyslipidemias with GBP prevalence, number and size in a large Chinese population in Beijing. Dyslipidemias include hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, increased low density lipoprotein (LDL) and decreased high density lipoproteins (HDL).
METHODS: Prevalence of GBP and its association with dyslipidemias were retrospectively investigated among subjects who underwent check-up at Health Screening Center of Xuanwu Hospital between January 2014 and December 2017.
