Detection and Mitigation of Data Integrity Attacks in Vehicle Platoons Using Unknown-Input Kalman Filters and Penalized Weighted Least Squares.

This study enhances the security of vehicle platoon systems against false data injection attacks (FDIAs), which can compromise critical states, such as position, velocity, and acceleration. The proposed approach ensures safe and stable autonomous vehicle coordination by detecting and mitigating such attacks under flexible platoon conditions. Unlike the existing methods, it supports arbitrary communication topologies, varying platoon sizes, dynamic lead-vehicle behavior, and accounts for process and measurement noise-making it applicable to a wide range of real-world scenarios. A state-space mo

Evolutionary Dynamics of Reputation-Based Voluntary Prisoner's Dilemma Games.

Cooperation underlies many natural and artificial systems. While voluntary participation can sustain cooperation without informational assumptions, real interactions are rarely anonymous, leaving the joint effects of participation and reputation insufficiently understood. We propose a reputation-based voluntary prisoner's dilemma, in which agents incur a monitoring cost to inspect opponents and decide whether to exit an interaction for a fixed incentive to avoid exploitation or to default to cooperation or defection. We show that reputation-conditioned exit generates multiple coexistence pathw

Optimization of Area Under ROC Curve (AUC) via Ensemble Mini-Batch Approach.

Optimizing the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) has garnered increasing attention in modern signal processing and machine learning applications due to the recent proliferation of high-volume and highly skewed datasets. Existing scalable approaches utilize linear models with limited modeling ability, kernel methods with high computational cost, or neural network models, which may be inadequate for the problem at hand. In this correspondence, we extend the mini-batch AUC optimization (MBA) algorithm called MBA to nonlinear settings and propose a new approach nam

An Optimization Framework for Multirobot Space Exploration With Hybrid RRT-FE and Market Mechanisms.

In this article, a novel space exploration method based on rapidly exploring random tree (RRT) and frontier-based exploration is proposed to efficiently build a map utilizing multirobot in an unknown environment. A hybrid RRT and frontier-based detector is designed to find the target point. Specifically, the RRT algorithm is used to detect frontier points; then, the frontier points are further expanded to obtain the continuous frontier region by a frontier-based exploration method, and the centroid of the continuous frontier region is selected as the exploration target point. In addition, a ta

Generative AI Empower Addiction-Related Brain Circuits Detection via Graph Diffusion-Infused Adversarial Learning.

The study of the nicotine addiction mechanism is of great significance in both nicotine withdrawal and brain science. The detection of addiction-related brain circuitry using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a critical step in studying this mechanism. However, it is challenging to accurately estimate addiction-related brain circuitry due to the low signal-to-noise ratio of fMRI and the issue of small sample size. In this work, a graph diffusion-infused adversarial learning (GDAL) network is proposed to capture addiction-related brain circuitry accurately. The GDAL combines the g

Prescribed-Time Performance-Based Data-Driven Control of Permanent Magnet Linear Motors: A Resilient Hierarchical Approach.

This article investigates coordinated velocity tracking control for heterogeneous permanent magnet linear motors (PMLMs) under actuator faults and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Parameter heterogeneity, actuator degradation, and communication failures jointly threaten system stability and tracking accuracy. A prescribed-time performance-based hierarchical resilient adaptive data-driven control strategy is proposed to solve the formulated issue. First, a distributed resilient prescribed-time observer is designed to estimate the time-varying virtual reference velocity despite intermittent comm

MC-SNN: Multicenter Stochastic Neural Network for Adversarially Robust Learning.

Enhancing the adversarial robustness of deep neural networks (DNNs) has become a prominent topic in the field of reliable artificial intelligence. Existing methods, no matter with standard training (ST) or adversarial training (AT), usually adopt a regular learning mode that induces a single center for each class of samples in the logit layer. However, due to the complex nature of data, a class of samples may have multiple dense regions, thereby following a mixed Gaussian distribution in latent space. The single-center learning mode makes it difficult for the network to fit data at a fine-grai

A Novel Adversarial Approach for EEG Dataset Refinement: Enhancing Generalization Through Proximity-to-Boundary Scoring.

As deep learning (DL) performs remarkably in pattern recognition from complex data, it is used to interpret user intentions from electroencephalography (EEG) signals. However, the DL models trained on EEG datasets have low generalization ability owing to numerous noisy samples in datasets. Therefore, prior research has focused on distinguishing and eliminating noisy samples from datasets. One intuitive solution is based on the property of noisy samples during the training phase. Noisy samples are located near the decision boundary after model training. Therefore, they can be detected using a g

Voltage-Sensitivity-Based Attack Design and Defense Strategy for Power Systems: Attack, Detection, and Compensation.

This article explores the problems of the attack-defense framework of power systems; first, an innovative voltage-sensitivity-based (VSB) attack scheduling method is proposed from the perspective of the attacker, with the aim of maximizing disruption to the target bus in the power system. To counteract the introduced VSB attack strategy, a digital second-order generalized integrator phase-locked loop (SOGI-PLL) compensatory mechanism is established to mitigate the adverse effects of the disruption. In the initial phase, the relationships between bus voltages and currents are analyzed, forming

Practical Prescribed-Time Fully Actuated Tracking Control for 2-DOF Pneumatic Parallel Mechanism With Input Saturation.

In this article, the attitude tracking control is investigated for a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) pneumatic parallel mechanism subject to input saturation and unknown disturbances. First, joint estimation of unknown dynamics and disturbances is achieved by integrating a radial basis function (RBF) neural network into the design of a prescribed-time refined extended state observer (PTRESO). Next, a second-order auxiliary system is constructed to mitigate the effects of input saturation. A practical prescribed-time fully actuated control (PPTFAC) method is developed to simplify controller desig

Secure Asynchronous Impulsive Control of Nonlinear Multiagent Systems Under Deception Attacks.

This article investigates the secure control problem of multiagent systems (MASs) with Lipschitz nonlinear dynamics under the asynchronous impulsive control framework. Random substitution deception attacks are modeled by Bernoulli variables and are assumed to occur in the controller or controller-to-actuator channel. By regarding the deception attack signal as a bounded external disturbance, the secure control problem is converted into the exponential input-to-state stability (EISS) problem of the derived consensus error system. A multisegmented Lyapunov function is designed to characterize th

Fast Fixed-Time Scaled Bipartite Consensus Control for High-Order Multiagent Systems With Time-Varying Extended State Observer.

This article focuses on the scaled bipartite consensus control for high-order multiagent systems (MASs) based on fast fixed-time stability with a novel active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) strategy. First, a time-varying fast fixed-time extended state observer (TVFFxTESO) is designed to observe the unknown states and disturbances, which can increase the observation speed and accuracy while reducing the peak value (PV). Moreover, a fast fixed-time distributed observer (FFxTDO) is proposed to realize the estimation of the leader's state by each follower, to obtain its expected reference t

Worst Case Learning for H ∞ Consensus for Heterogeneous Multiagent Systems: A Resource-Constrained Game Approach.

This article investigates heterogeneous high-order nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) under an event-triggered mechanism (ETM). A reinforcement learning (RL)-based zero-sum game (ZSG) approach is employed to solve the robust consensus problem. To handle heterogeneity, unified-dimension state variables are constructed, auxiliary variables are defined, and consensus errors are reformulated accordingly. By applying the min-max principle, the optimal $H_{\infty } $ consensus problem is transformed into a ZSG problem, and an approximately optimal consensus protocol is derived by solving the Hamilt

Frequency-Shaped Natural Actor-Critic for Online Optimal Tracking Control of Unknown Stochastic Systems.

In industrial and robotic control tasks, reference trajectories often concentrate within specific frequency bands, whereas noise and disturbances may dominate other frequency ranges. Conventional reinforcement learning (RL) methods typically employ time-domain cost functions that weight all frequency components equally, leading to excessive sensitivity to high-frequency noise and limited tracking accuracy. This limitation restricts the applicability of RL to time-varying trajectory-tracking problems. To address this issue, we propose a frequency-shaped implicit online natural actor-critic (FS-

A Distributed Monitoring Framework for Large-Scale Industrial Processes Based on Differential Grouping and Hierarchical Cooperative Modeling.

Modern large-scale industrial processes, characterized by high dimensionality, strong nonlinearity, and complex spatiotemporal couplings, pose significant challenges to traditional monitoring methods. To address these challenges, this article proposes a novel distributed monitoring framework: differential grouping and hierarchical cooperative monitoring (DG-HCM). First, a differential grouping (DG) strategy leverages deep feature interactions to adaptively decompose the process into functionally cohesive sub-blocks. Second, a hierarchical cooperative monitoring system is constructed upon this

Dynamic Gain-Driven Adaptive Quantized Output Feedback Control for Nonlinear Systems Governed by Parameter Criteria.

This article focuses on stabilizing uncertain nonlinear systems with limited communication resources. Traditional approaches relying on static quantizers or fixed-gain observers face significant limitations. To solve this, an adaptive observer-based quantized output feedback control framework is proposed. A dynamic-gain state observer is developed, with observer gains adjusted by a differential equation to handle nonlinearities and quantization effects. A criterion for choosing quantization parameters is established, linking them to control gains, observer dynamics, and bounded uncertainties.

Three-Way Conflict Analysis and Resolution for Intuitionistic Fuzzy Information Systems via Three-Way Concept Analysis.

Analyzing conflicts between multiple objects within fuzzy information systems (ISs) and providing effective conflict resolution are challenging tasks due to the complexity and uncertainty of the real world. This article proposes a three-way conflict analysis and resolution model for intuitionistic fuzzy ISs (IFISs) based on three-way concept analysis (3WCA). First, the straight and vertical distances between intuitionistic fuzzy values (IFVs) are defined to obtain an intuitionistic fuzzy probability-credibility distribution. Second, intuitionistic fuzzy optimistic and pessimistic formal contex

LASFNet: A Lightweight Attention-Guided Self-Modulation Feature Fusion Network for Multimodal Object Detection.

Effective deep feature extraction via feature-level fusion is crucial for multimodal object detection. However, previous studies often involve complex training processes that integrate modality-specific features by stacking multiple feature-level fusion units, leading to significant computational overhead. To address this issue, we propose a lightweight attention-guided self-modulation feature fusion network (LASFNet). The LASFNet adopts a single feature-level fusion unit to enable high-performance detection, thereby simplifying the training process. The attention-guided self-modulation featur

Safe Optimal Control Framework for Cooperative Manipulation of Objects in Human-Robot Teams.

This article introduces a distributed deep neural network (NN)-based adaptive control framework for cooperative object manipulation in human-robot teams with unknown agent dynamics by using three distinct multilayer NN observers (MNNOs). The first observer, termed the reference point estimator, enables each robotic agent to estimate the object's reference center using consensus-based learning, even without direct access to global reference trajectories. The second observer, referred to as the human force-to-trajectory estimator, uses human-applied forces to infer the intended position, velocit

VL-HTR: Learning Human-Target Representation From Vision-Language Model.

Human-gaze-target prediction aims to predict the target point or object that humans are looking at in images. However, existing methods predominantly rely on vision-only features, which often struggle to capture the semantic context of small or occluded objects and lack explicit priors for precise head direction regression, leading to slow convergence and suboptimal performance. Therefore, we introduce VL-HTR, a novel vision-language learning method for human-target representation, which integrates multimodal knowledge from vision-language models (VLMs) to construct robust human-target relatio
