Mapping inequities in digital health transformation within Ethiopia's primary health care system using PROGRESS-plus: Scoping review.

OBJECTIVES: Digital health technologies (DHTs) are recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as essential to achieving Universal Health Coverage, yet major equity gaps persist in low-resource settings such as Ethiopia. This scoping review applies the PROGRESS-Plus framework to examine how overlapping social identities (e.g., gender, residence, and income) shape inequities in access to, use of, and engagement with DHTs in Ethiopia's primary healthcare (PHC) system. METHODS: Following Arksey and O'Malley's framework enhanced by Levac et al. and reported using PRISMA-ScR 2020 guidelines.

Digital health interventions for mental health disorders: an umbrella review of meta-analyses of randomised controlled trials.

Digital health interventions (DHIs) show promise for the treatment of mental health disorders. However, existing meta-analytical research is methodologically heterogeneous, with studies including a mix of clinical, non-clinical, and transdiagnostic populations, hindering a comprehensive understanding of DHI effectiveness. Thus, we conducted an umbrella review of meta-analyses of randomised controlled trials investigating the effectiveness of DHIs for specific mental health disorders and evaluating the quality of evidence. We searched three public electronic databases from inception to February

Adolescent health literacy: factors effecting usage and expertise of digital health literacy among universities students in Pakistan.

BACKGROUND: Electronic health tools are of little use if the intended user lacks the skills to effectively engage them. Engaging eHealth requires a skill set, or literacy, of its own. The present study is an effort to probe the relationship of education and Institution (Independent Variables) with the usage and expertise in eHealth literacy (Dependent Variables) among university students. The research is conducted in 16 Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan's recognized universities in Lahore. Both male and female students ranging from BS to PhD programs were the focus of the research. M

A Digital App to Aid Detection, Monitoring, and Management of Dyslexia in Young Children (DIMMAND): Protocol for a Digital Health and Education Solution.

BACKGROUND: Dyslexia, a specific learning difficulty and a disability as defined in the Equality Act 2010, is a lifelong condition that affects a child from the start of education. Dyslexia is characterized by difficulties in language processing (reading, spelling, and writing) which do not correspond with the child's general intellectual abilities. Although dyslexia cannot be cured, there is a consensus that interventions are more effective and have greater impact the earlier they are administered. Effective interventions start with diagnosis. Currently, formal diagnosis requires an assessmen

A Digital Health-Ready Screening Approach for Correctional Health Systems: Integrating the 9-THAI Tool with Prison Health Volunteers in Thailand.

Correctional health systems face structural constraints that limit timely and systematic health assessment. While screening tools such as the 9-THAI have been widely used in community settings, their integration into digital health systems in correctional environments remains underexplored. This study evaluates the feasibility of implementing a digital-ready screening approach using the 9-THAI tool facilitated by Prison Health Volunteers (PHVs) in Thai correctional institutions, with a focus on system integration and scalability. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 441 incarcerated ind

Beyond Principlism: A Cosmopolitan and Care Ethics Approach to One Digital Health.

This article examines the limitations of principlism in addressing the ethical challenges posed by One Digital Health. While principlism remains influential in bioethics, digital health, and global health policy, we argue that it is insufficient to capture the relational, data infrastructural, and multispecies dynamics shaping the threats to One Health. Using antimicrobial resistance as a paradigmatic case, we show that One Digital Health governance is shaped not only by distributive ethical concerns but also by structural asymmetries in data visibility, digital infrastructure, and epistemic i

Accountable Action End Points for Evaluating Artificial Intelligence in Digital Public Health.

AI is increasingly embedded in digital public health systems, but model performance, system deployment, message delivery, alert volume, and user engagement do not establish whether an AI-supported workflow has changed public health practice. This viewpoint proposes a public health action end point-a prespecified, auditable, AI output-specific, actor-bound, time-bound, denominator-based way to specify and measure an existing proximal process or implementation end point. It begins with a defined AI output and records the corresponding action opportunity, accountable actor, action status, and evi

Human-centered digital ecosystem: safeguarding healthcare workers' sleep, ergonomics, and occupational health.

Using Healthcare-Associated Infection (HCAI) surveillance as a representative model for high-burden administrative tasks, this Perspective argues that healthcare worker fatigue, sleep disruption, and poorly integrated digital systems threaten both occupational health and health-system resilience. Crucially, these problems should be addressed as failures of work-system design rather than deficits in individual resilience. We propose a Human-Centered Digital Ecosystem that places adequate staffing, circadian-aligned scheduling, protected recovery, and supportive organizational conditions before
