OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the role of double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) in treating intestinal polyps in patients with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS).
METHODS: All patients diagnosed with PJS who underwent a polypectomy under DBE from October 2006 to December 2018 were enrolled. Their clinical records, including surgical history, the method of DBE insertion, the number of DBE procedures, and the maximum size and number of the resected polyps, were retrospectively reviewed.

Recent case series have shown that enteroscopy is safe and effective to remove entrapped small bowel foreign bodies. The patient was a 75-year-old woman who had undergone resection of a transverse colon cancer two years before. She had anemia and intestinal obstruction, and a diagnosis of multiple metastases to the small intestine was made by double balloon enteroscopy. Eleven metastatic foci were resected by partial resection of the jejunum and ileum. Adjuvant FOLFOX chemotherapy was given, achieving a 26-month disease-free survival. The double balloon enteroscopy was useful in the definitive diagnosis of this case, and aggressive resection with adjuvant chemotherapy contributed to the good outcome.

A 40-year-old male presented to the Emergency Department after a driving accident with blunt abdominal trauma. Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is a relatively common true congenital diverticulum on the ileum. Bleeding caused by polypoid hyperplasia of ectopic gastric mucosa in MD is rare. A 14-year-old Chinese boy presented with intermittent melena and haematochezia for 1 month. Laboratory data showed normocytic anaemia. Gastroscopic findings were normal.
