Myelofibrosis Pattern in 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT of a Patient With Recurrence Prostate Cancer.

We present the case of a 64-year-old man with prostate adenocarcinoma, Gleason score 7, after radical prostatectomy and adjuvant radiotherapy in 2015. Because of high risk and perineural invasion, hormonotherapy was indicated. PSA levels began to rise, and at PSA level of 0.9 ng/mL, he was referred for 68Ga-PSMAPET/CT. It showed focal uptake in the right femur and diffuse tracer accumulation in bone marrow. The patient was previously diagnosed with macrocytic anemia. He underwent bone marrow biopsy. Based on clinical, laboratory, and histopathology results, myelodysplastic fibrosis was diagnos

68Ga-PSMA-HBED-CC PET imaging in breast carcinoma patients.

BACKGROUND: To report on imaging findings using 68Ga-PSMA-HBED-CC PET in a series of 19 breast carcinoma patients. METHODS: 68Ga-PSMA-HBED-CC PET imaging results obtained were compared to routinely performed staging examinations and analyzed as to lesion location and progesterone receptor status. RESULTS: Out of 81 tumor lesions identified, 84% were identified on 68Ga-PSMA-HBED-CC PET. 68Ga-PSMA-HBED-CC SUVmean values of distant metastases proved significantly higher (mean, 6.86, SD, 5.68) when compared to those of primary or local recurrences (mean, 2.45, SD, 2.55, p = 0.04) or involved lym

Optimization of an Allysine-Targeted PET Probe for Quantifying Fibrogenesis in a Mouse Model of Pulmonary Fibrosis.

PURPOSE: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a destructive lung disease with a poor prognosis, an unpredictable clinical course, and inadequate therapies. There are currently no measures of disease activity to guide clinicians making treatment decisions. The aim of this study was to develop a PET probe to identify lung fibrogenesis using a pre-clinical model of pulmonary fibrosis, with potential for translation into clinical use to predict disease progression and inform treatment decisions. METHODS: Eight novel allysine-targeting chelators, PIF-1, PIF-2, …, PIF-8, with different aldehyde-r

Optimization of 68Ga-DOTA radiolabeling conditions for disulfide-directed multicyclic peptides and amphiphilic antimicrobial peptides.

Gallium-68 labeled peptide radiotracers have attracted significant attention in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of various diseases. While 68Ga-DOTA radiolabeling protocols are well-established, two classes of peptides, disulfide-directed multicyclic peptides (DDMPs) and amphiphilic antimicrobial peptides (AAMPs), presented challenges in achieving satisfactory radiolabeling efficiency using existing methods. This study therefore aimed to establish optimized 68Ga-DOTA radiolabeling protocols specifically tailored to these peptides, in order to achieve high radiochemical purity (RCP)

Catechol-Based Functionalizable Ligands for Gallium-68 Positron Emission Tomography Imaging.

Four tris-bidentate catecholamide (CAM) ligands were synthesized, characterized, and evaluated as ligands for radiolabeling of gallium-68 for positron emission tomography (PET). Three of those ligands, 2,2-Glu-CAM, 3,3-Glu-CAM, and TREN-bisGlyGlu-CAM, incorporate ligand caps that contain a pendant carboxylic group for further conjugation to targeting moieties. The acyclic ligands all exhibited high (>80%) radiolabeling yields after short reaction times (<10 min) at room temperature, a distinct advantage over macrocyclic analogues that display slower kinetics. The stabilities of the four GaIII

In situ lymphoma imaging in a spontaneous mouse model using the Cerenkov Luminescence of F-18 and Ga-67 isotopes.

Cerenkov luminescence imaging (CLI) is a promising approach to image-guided surgery and pathological sampling. It could offer additional advantages when combined to whole-body isotope tomographies. We aimed to obtain evidence of its applicability in lymphoma patho-diagnostics, thus we decided to investigate the radiodiagnostic potential of combined PET or SPECT/CLI in an experimental, novel spontaneous high-grade B-cell lymphoma mouse model (Bc.DLFL1). We monitored the lymphoma dissemination at early stage, and at clinically relevant stages such as advanced stage and terminal stage with in viv

68Ga-FAPI PET in detection of 18F-FDG PET Negative Cholangiocarcinoma: A Case Report on Alternative Molecular Imaging in Biliary Tract Malignancy.

Fibroblast activation protein inhibitors (FAPI) PET is a new imaging approach that targets the cell population in the tumour surrounding stroma, particularly cancer-associated fibroblasts, rather than tumour cells. 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT FAPI PET/CT provides better lesion characterisation due to a higher tumour-to-background ratio and exhibits high diagnostic accuracy, especially for cancers that exhibit low-to-moderate uptake of 18F-FDG. We report the case of a 77-year-old woman with known renal cell carcinoma treated ten years ago, and recently presented with cholangitis and a liver lesion. 18FDG

Incidental Intrahepatic Hepatocellular Cholangiocarcinoma Detected on 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT.

A 69-year-old man with intermediate-risk prostate cancer and a mildly elevated prostate-specific antigen of 8.2 μg/L was referred for 68Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (68Ga-PSMA) PET/CT for primary staging. An incidental intensely 68Ga-PSMA-avid hepatic focus was seen on PSMA PET and subsequent FDG PET/CT and MRI cholangiogram. This was confirmed to be hepatocellular cholangiocarcinoma on subsequent histopathological examination.

Using 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT for Therapy Response Assessment in Patients with Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer: Application of EAU/EANM Recommendations in Clinical Practice.

For patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), no reliable biomarkers for predicting therapeutic response or assisting in treatment selection and sequencing are currently available. Using the recent European Association of Urology and European Association of Nuclear Medicine recommendations, we aimed to compare response assessment between prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT and conventional imaging in mCRPC patients starting first-line treatment with a novel hormonal agent (NHA) and to perform a sequential comparative analysis of PSMA PET/CT-derived par

Evaluation of the clinical use of PET/CT with 68Ga-PSMA for the assessment of biochemical recurrence of low or intermediate-risk prostate cancer.

RATIONALE: 68Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET-PSMA) has shown promising performance for the assessment of biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer in high-risk patients, defined by D´Amico et al. criteria. Little evidence for the impact of this diagnostic method for patients at low or intermediate risk, in terms of management and benefits of subsequent treatment, is available. METHODS: Data from 57 patients with low and intermediate-risk prostate cancer and biochemical recurrence underwent PET-PSMA were examined retrospectively. Imag

Renal Pelvis Metastasis From Prostatic Adenocarcinoma Missed by PSMA PET: A Case Report.

Metastasis of prostate cancer to renal pelvis is extremely rare. A 64-year-old man was hospitalized for increased prostate-specific antigen after radical prostatectomy. 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT showed hydronephrosis caused by a mass in the left renal pelvis without significant uptake of prostate-specific membrane antigen tracer. The histopathology indicated metastatic prostate cancer with a Gleason score of 5 + 5 but negative for prostate-specific membrane antigen following nephroureterectomy. Although metastasis to renal pelvis is rare, the occurrence possibility could not be ignored when with hyd

68Ga PSMA PET/CT in a Rare Case of Metastatic Adenocarcinoma Prostate Presenting as Numb Chin Syndrome.

A 68-year-old man presented with right-side facial numbness. MRI showed an extra-axial mass infiltrating the right temporal bone. It was debulked surgically, and histopathology revealed metastatic adenocarcinoma. Ga PSMA PET/CT done in view of increased PSA levels and clinically suspicious hard lesion in prostate showed primary lesion in left side of prostate with metastases to the right temporal bone. Primary carcinoma of the prostate and metastases to the right temporal bone were proven histopathologically. Our case highlights the usefulness of Ga PSMA PET/CT in identifying the primary site

68Ga-PSMA PET/MR-Positive Peritoneal Metastasis in the Falciform Ligament in Recurrent Prostate Cancer.

Synchronous or metachronous metastases develop in approximately one third of all prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Main sites of metastasis include lymph nodes, bone, lung and liver. Secondary peritoneal carcinomatosis is very rare in PCa, with only a few published cases. Ga-PSMA PET-based imaging is a promising tool for staging and restaging PCa. We report a case of Ga-PSMA PET/MR-positive peritoneal metastasis as site of primary relapse after definitive PCa treatment in a 58-year-old man with a prostate-specific antigen of 30 ng/mL at time of the study. 68Ga-PSMA-11 in Staging of Unfavorable Intermediate- and High-Risk Prostate Cancer Reduces Indication for Noncurative Prostatectomy: A Prospective, Multicenter, IAEA Study.

Accurate staging of unfavorable intermediate- or high-risk prostate cancer (PCa) is essential for treatment decisions. Conventional imaging often fails to detect lymph node, bone, and visceral metastases, and for this purpose 68Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-11 PET/CT is clinically used. This prospective, multicenter, International Atomic Energy Agency-supported trial evaluated the accuracy of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT for initial staging compared with MRI and histopathology and the impact of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT on determining surgical eligibility.
