A new ultrasound technique for intestinal examination, named "sono-enterocolonography by oral water administration," was devised. The diagnostic usefulness and limitations of this procedure were studied in 56 subjects including 42 normal patients, 10 patients with 13 colonic polyps and 4 patients with colon carcinomas. Except for the rectum, almost all the intestines were clearly visualized by ultra-sonography as tubular structures filled with water. Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the small bowel are a diverse group of tumors with a broad spectrum of imaging findings and clinical implications. Most tumors originate in close proximity to the ileocecal valve and most commonly metastasize to the mesentery and liver. This review will highlight the imaging findings of primary and metastatic small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasm that are most relevant to the surgical team.

Intussusception is uncommon in adults and is only very rarely caused by malignant lymphoma. To our knowledge, there are only 2 previously reported cases of mantle cell lymphoma causing intussusception. We present 2 additional cases of intussusception at the ileocecal valve in patients being treated for mantle cell lymphoma, and a review of the pertinent literature is presented.

The Rapunzel syndrome (trichobezoar) occurs when gastrointestinal obstruction is produced by a rare manifestation of a trichobezoar with a long tail that extends to or beyond the ileocecal valve. A case history of a 7-year-old girl is described. This is the eleventh patient with Rapunzel syndrome reported in the literature. The epidemiology, clinical features, diagnosis, complications, treatment, and literature are reviewed briefly.

We report three unusual cases of focal lymphoid hyperplasia of the ileocecal valve. The gross specimens showed thickening of the ileocecal valve. We report our experience with a case of malignant lymphoma of the small intestine associated with intussusception. The patient was a 57-year-old woman. She came to our hospital, complaining of lower abdominal pain from the previous day. A boy presenting with a small bladder and refluxing blind-ending ureteral stumps following multiple attempts at ureteral reimplantation and supravesical diversion with a high left-to-right transureteroureterostomy and right cutaneous ureterostomy underwent successful undiversion. RATIONALE: Gastrointestinal solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma (EMP) is rare, just occupies about 5% of all EMPs. The most common site is small intestine followed by stomach. The colorectal incidence is much rare.
PATIENT CONCERNS: A 63-year-old female had an episodic pain around the umbilicus for about one week. The hyperemia and edema in the ileocecal mucosa were found in colonoscopy, and the endoscopy could not cross the ileocecal valve. The pathology specimens showed a high index suspicion of plasmacytoma.
DIAGNOSES: The patient was diagnosed with extramedullary plasmacytoma.

Expected clinical manifestations of intussusception include paroxysmal abdominal pain, vomiting, abdominal mass, and with time, rectal bleeding. We report a case where lethargy and vomiting are the presenting complaints. Diagnostic delay was encountered for this infant who had altered sensorium without accompanying pain, melena, or mass on initial examination. Either plain radiographs, supplemented by ultrasonography of the abdomen, or a barium enema should be performed in infants with unexplained lethargy.

Total colonic aganglionosis (TCA) is a relatively uncommon form of Hirschsprung disease (HSCR), occurring in approximately 2%-13% of cases.
