Understanding user experiences of providing and utilizing washable absorbent continence products in India, Papua New Guinea and Romania.

Incontinence is a global health and social care challenge. Effectively containing bladder or bowel leakage is fundamental for people living with incontinence. Disposable absorbent products are widely used, but do not work well for everyone and are neither financially nor environmentally sustainable. Specifically designed washable absorbent products are not widely used. We aimed to understand people's experiences of using or providing washable products in different contexts. We undertook 57 interviews with product-users and/or carers and three focus groups with service providers in India, Papua

Airborne enteric micro-organisms and ammonia levels in diaper-changing rooms in kindergartens.

AIMS: We evaluated risks associated with diaper changing in Finnish kindergartens where children were using either modern disposable paper or reusable cloth diapers. METHODS AND RESULTS: We determined enteric micro-organisms and ammonia in diaper-changing rooms in four kindergartens in autumn and winter in the ambient air. No coliphages were detected in the air. The numbers of faecal coliforms and enterococci in air were typically low regardless of whether the children used either paper or cloth diapers. Ammonia concentrations increased over the background level because of diaper changing. C

[Optimization of surgical treatment selection for male stress urinary incontinence].

INTRODUCTION: Male stress urinary incontinence (SUI) following prostate surgery significantly impairs quality of life. The main surgical treatment options for SUI are male sling (MS) implantation and artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) implantation. The optimal choice of procedure depends on the severity of incontinence. The 24-hour pad test and pad count do not reliably reflect the functional status of the external urethral sphincter (EUS). The Male Stress Incontinence Grading Scale (MSIGS) has been proposed to improve patient stratification. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of preope
