A group of 110 eyes with untreated ocular hypertension, 94 being non-exfoliative and 16 exfoliative and in addition 10 glaucomatous eyes were selected for this study. The optic nerve head was examined by ophthalmoscopy and a drawing was made of the estimated cupping. The disc pallor was measured from disc photographs in a double masked manner at the same time. The possibility to detect early glaucomatous damage by a single examination will be discussed and the two methods will be compared. This study indicates that an increasing vertical diameter of disc pallor might have a predictive value.

Feto-maternal hemorrhage (FMH) is not an uncommon event during pregnancy with important clinical implications for both maternal and fetal outcomes. The pathologic features of silent hyperintense white matter lesions in T2-weighted images on MRI were studied in patients with no neurologic signs or symptoms. The small patchy hyperintense white matter lesions represented myelin pallor associated with vessels showing hypertension and arteriosclerotic changes. 'Caps' also showed myelin pallor with dilated perivascular spaces. There were no lacunar infarcts in these lesions. Some of 'caps' was shown to be elongated normal lateral ventricle. 'Rims' of early stage revealed subependymal gliosis that was a part of normal aging processes.

AIM: To longitudinally examine the late vaginal mucosal reactions in patients following high-dose-rate brachytherapy (BT).

CASE REPORT: This report describes two siblings, a woman aged 44 years and her brother aged 29 years, who both complained of visual loss in both eyes. The woman had bilateral optic nerve (ON) temporal pallor and severe reduction of ON fibre layer thickness in this area. Both she and her brother had cecocentral defects in perimetry and color vision deficiency with a marked tritanopia deficit.

In order to increase the accuracy of motion sickness grading criteria, infrared thermography and Laser Doppler microcirculation blood-flow detector were used in 60 healthy male individuals: before, immediately, and 20 min after paralleled-swing stimulation.
