Phialophora verrucosa is a dematiaceous fungus that causes mainly chromoblastomycosis, but also disseminated infections such as phaeohyphomycosis and mycetoma. These diseases are extremely hard to treat and often refractory to current antifungal therapies. Cu(I) complexes have received widespread attention as a promising alternative to traditional noble-metal complexes. Chloro(glycinato-N,O)(1,10-phenanthroline-N,N')‑copper(II) trihydrate complex was synthesized through the slow evaporation method. Chemical pollutants often co-occur and can interact to cause unexpected combined toxic effects. The title compound, [Pt(C14H12N2)(C21H21N2P)](NO3)2·2CH3OH, is a platinum(II) complex, which crystallizes in a monoclinic (P21/c) space group. The complex exhibits a distorted square-planar geometry, which includes a monodentate 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and a tridentate 2-{[2-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)benzyl-idene]amino}-ethan-1-amine ligand. The structure reveals both intra- and inter-molecular π-stacking inter-actions between the phenanthroline and phosphine rings. The structure of the title compound, [CrCl(C12H8N2)2(H2O)][ZnCl4]·H2O, has been determined from synchrotron data. The Cr(III) ion is bonded to four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, one water mol-ecule and a Cl atom in a cis arrangement, displaying an overall distorted octa-hedral coordination environment.
