The COVID-19 pandemic has put a tremendous burden on the medical community and brought a great number of accompanying issues, as well as other closely associated diseases. The response to this public health and medical challenge was outstanding. However, dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and various issues brought on by the earthquake was successfully facilitated by the use of teledermatology. This innovative technology enabled dermatovenereologists to stay in continuous touch with their patients and provide much needed care and assistance in difficult circumstances caused by several crises.

This is a retrospective case study of a patient affected by toxic epidermal necrolysis in the intensive care unit of a public hospital, with the goal to apprehend, starting from the clinical judgments of the nurses, theirs nursing diagnoses. Thirteen nursing diagnoses were evidenced and, also, it was evidenced the necessity of the theoretical improvement of those professionals about the Systematization of Nursing Care, and on the sense of value that this practice may add to nursing in the pursuit of individualized assistance to the patients under their care.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to examine the prevalence of myopic eyes over 11 years (2008-2018) in a private clinic and a public assistance service.
METHODS: We retrospectively evaluated 6332 individuals (12,664 eyes) between 5 and 25 years old, seen at a private clinic-CEMO (2,663 individuals) and a public service-HOIP (3,669 individuals) from 2008 to 2018. We evaluated the prevalence of myopic eyes (EE ≤-0.50) and high myopic eyes (EE ≤-6.00).

Recently, there has been tremendous interest in deep and extreme poverty in the United States. We advance beyond prior research by using higher-quality data, improving measurement, and following leading standards in international income research. We estimate deep (less than 20% of medians) and extreme (less than 10% of medians) poverty in the United States from 1993 to 2016.
