BACKGROUND: Deep carious lesions often lead to pulp exposure, highlighting the need for effective pulp preservation strategies. While root canal treatment was the conventional approach, alternatives like partial pulpotomy (PP) showed high success rates in maintaining pulp vitality. This review aimed to assess the success rates of PP in vital, mature teeth with carious pulp exposure, particularly focusing on adults aged 18 and older, as recent research is limited.
METHODS: This systematic review (PROSPERO ID: CRD42024494545) examines the success rate of partial pulpotomy in adult mature perman

Carious exposure of an irreversibly inflamed vital pulp in a young permanent tooth presents a significant clinical challenge to clinicians to maintain the vitality. Direct pulp capping, partial pulpotomy, and complete pulpotomy are the available procedures to treat young permanent tooth. Mineral trioxide aggregate and biodentine are currently the material of choice for these procedures. The present case report describes the successful apexogenesis of mandibular left first permanent molar using mineral trioxide aggregate. The 18-month follow-up of the case demonstrated clinical and radiographic

Pulpotomy is recognized as a promising treatment option, especially for immature permanent teeth, as it prevents the unnecessary removal of radicular pulp tissue. The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical and radiographic outcome of full pulpotomy using Biodentine in the young permanent tooth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. Full pulpotomy with Biodentine was performed on a 15-year-old male patient diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis in tooth #47. Follow-up was done at 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years postoperatively. The patient was asymptomatic throughout the follow-ups. 12-mont

INTRODUCTION: Both pulpotomy and pulpectomy are indicated in deciduous teeth with carious pulp exposure. Pulpotomy is recommended for treating carious pulp exposure in primary molars with the development of dental biomaterials. However, it is difficult to determine the severity of pulpitis as children frequently have difficulty communicating their clinical symptoms and there is no objective diagnostic method to assess pulpal status. Thus, therapeutic interventions for deciduous teeth with carious pulp involvement are controversial in clinical applications. This study compared the clinical and

The current case study evaluated the effect of vital pulp therapy on a human dental pulp after a long-term period using micro-computed tomography (MCT) for the first time. In the presented report, the successful outcomes of full pulpotomy using calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement on an irreversible pulpitis case were documented clinically/radiographically over 5 years. Due to an unrestorable crown fracture at the 5-year recall, the tooth was extracted and evaluated by MCT; the images showed that CEM pulpotomy allowed the dental pulp to create complete dentinal bridges without pulp canal obli
