BACKGROUND: Therapeutic exercise for gait function using an exoskeleton-assisted Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training (BWSTT) has been identified as a potential intervention that allows for task-based repetitive training with appropriate kinematics while adjusting the amount of body weight support (BWS). Nonetheless, its effect on gait in patients with stroke in the chronic phase are yet to be clarified. The primary aim of this scoping review was to present the status of effectiveness of exoskeleton-assisted BWSTT in patients with chronic stroke. The secondary aims were to summarise interv

Positive behavioral support (PBS) employs applied behavioral analysis to enhance the quality of life of people who behave in challenging ways. PBS builds on the straightforward and intuitively appealing notion that if people know how to control their environments, they will have less need to behave in challenging ways. Accordingly, PBS focuses on the perspective of those who have behavioral issues, and assesses success via reduction in incidences of challenging behaviors. The qualitative research presented in this report approaches PBS from a different viewpoint and, using thematic analysis, c

This pilot study investigated the feasibility of using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) as a physiological marker of brain plasticity before and after an intensive body-weight-supported treadmill training (BWSTT) program in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Six ambulatory children (four males, two females; mean age 10y 6mo, age range 6-14y) with spastic CP (four hemiplegia, two asymmetric diplegia, all Gross Motor Function Classification System Level I) received BWSTT twice daily for 2 weeks. All children tolerated therapy; only one therapy session was aborted due to fatigue. With

Stroke is a cerebrovascular event that significantly affects patients' mobility and independence. Restoring gait patterns is a critical goal of stroke rehabilitation, and technology-based therapies have shown promising results. Lower limb exoskeleton therapy, body weight-supported treadmill training (BWSTT), and game-based virtual reality (VR) training are innovative approaches that have improved muscle strength, balance, and walking capability in stroke patients. Integrating these therapies into a comprehensive rehabilitation program may enhance motor recovery and functional outcomes for stro

BACKGROUND: Currently, lactation training courses aimed at health professionals are important for informing and supporting mothers who are breastfeeding. In this review, we seek to analyze similarities and/or variations in course content, modes of delivery, costs, teaching style and learning strategies among courses. To our knowledge, a review of lactation training courses available worldwide is lacking. Thus, the aim of this review is to describe course models aimed at training health professionals in lactation support for mothers.
METHODS: Through searching grey literature, training courses

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of emergency remote training programs for young children with Down syndrome, learning difficulties, and severe health problems and their parents became a requirement. The present study aimed to evaluate the impact of the "applied emergency remote training program", prepared to address the needs of parents with children with Down syndrome and to offer them at-home support. It is an evaluative case study conducted with 11 parents of 11-35 months old children with Down syndrome. The findings demonstrated that the program could be conducted in a home e

BACKGROUND: Primary care is the main treatment setting for panic disorder and should be supplemented by collaborative care programs. However, shortage of mental health professionals prevents collaborative care programs from being effectively implemented. The PARADISE study showed the efficacy of a self-managed, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT)-oriented exposure training for patients with panic disorder with or without agoraphobia in primary care delivered by the family practice team.
OBJECTIVE: To assess the cost-effectiveness of the PARADISE intervention.
DESIGN: Cost-effectiveness analy

BACKGROUND/AIM: Body weight-supported treadmill training (BWSTT) might have greater effects than conventional treadmill training (TT) in neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (PD). The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different percentages of BWSTT on gait, balance, quality of life, and fatigue in PD.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-five patients with moderate to advanced PD were randomized into three BWSTT groups according to the supported percentage of body weight: 0% BWSTT (control group; unsupported TT), 10% BWSTT, or 20% BWSTT. Five patients were excluded due to

BACKGROUND: Lack of trust in parental support is a transdiagnostic risk factor for the development of psychological problems throughout the lifespan. Research suggests that children's cognitive attachment representations and related information processing biases could be an important target for interventions aiming to build trust in the parent-child relationship. A paradigm that can alter these biases and increase trust is that of Cognitive Bias Modification (CBM), during which a target processing bias is systematically trained. Trust-related CBM training effects could possibly be enhanced by

PURPOSE: To test the hypothesis that partial body weight-supported treadmill training (PBWSTT) provides more effective gait training than an equally supportive but less physiologic aggressive bracing assisted walking (ABAW) program.
METHODS: Following informed consent, patients participating in an inpatient rehabilitation program with significant leg weakness and need for at least moderate assistance for walking, without orthostatic hypotension, symptomatic dyspnea, or angina pectoris were randomized to receive PBWSTT vs. ABAW. PBWSTT was provided by a commercially available, overhead motoriz

INTRODUCTION: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in Europe, with most events occurring at home. Early recognition and initiation of resuscitation improve survival and neurological outcomes, yet they are not consistently performed by bystanders. School-based initiatives such as "Kids Save Lives" promote basic life support (BLS) training and encourage schoolchildren to disseminate this knowledge within their families. However, evidence on how this transfer occurs and how it can be assessed remains limited.
AIM: To map how BLS knowledge transfer from schoolchildren to fam

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Artificial intelligence (AI), particularly large language models (LLMs), is increasingly explored for clinical decision support and medical education. While general LLM proficiency on broad medical examinations has been demonstrated, their application of domain-specific knowledge in neurology remains underexplored. This study addresses that gap using multiple sclerosis (MS) as an exemplar, evaluating how LLM information access strategies affect accuracy in a specialized postgraduate curriculum and exploring possible roles of LLMs in neurology education.

BACKGROUND: Osteosarcopenia is geriatric syndrome defined as the concomitant occurrence of osteopenia/osteoporosis, and sarcopenia. Osteosarcopenia is a relatively new concept in geriatric medicine; however, it may increase the risk of fragility fractures, several morbidities and mortalities, and socioeconomic costs. Although resistance exercises and nutritional support-including protein, calcium, and vitamin D-are potential non-pharmacological management procedures, evidence is still lacking. The objective of this study was therefore to evaluate the effect of combined resistance exercise and
