The peritoneum is a unique serosal membrane, which can be the site of primary tumors and, more commonly, secondary pathologic processes. Peritoneal carcinomatosis is the most common malignant condition to affect the peritoneal cavity, and the radiologist plays an important role in making the diagnosis and assessing the extent of disease, especially in sites that may hinder surgery. Coronal computed tomography is an important adjunct to the routine axial view in the evaluation of lesions of the skull and brain in infants and children. Of 400 axial scans performed over a four-mounth period, 50 were supplemented by coronal scans. Intracranial or cranial abnormalities were present in 39 (78%). Although the disadvantages of the coronal projection make it impractical as the only modality, when used as an adjunct to the axial view certain lesions of the skull and brain are diagnosed and delineated better.

Fifty-three orbital lesions of various types were studied by computer tomography to assess the capabilities and limitations of this technique. Although CT scanning in ophthalmology is in its infancy, results showed that it is useful in the investigation of a number of pathological conditions, including congenital anomalies, arteriovenous malformations, bone lesions, trauma, inflammation, granulomas, pseudotumors, epidermoid cysts, and tumors arising in or near the optic nerve, behind the optic bulb, or in the lacrimal region, as well as changes following eye surgery.

STUDY DESIGN: This report is a retrospective cohort study on 20,395 fetal sonographic evaluations in a single tertiary center from 2000 to 2014. The etiology of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is unknown. Phenotypic patterns of CDH defects provide clues about normal diaphragm development and the pathophysiology of CDH. We report a case of a patient who was diagnosed with CDH postnatally and was found on imaging to have simultaneous Bochdalek and Morgagni hernias on the right side. During the operative repair of these defects, an additional left-sided Morgagni-type defect was also found. To the best of our knowledge, this form of CDH has not been previously reported.
