INTRODUCTION: Giant duodenal diverticulum is a very rare case. There are only few cases reported. We reported a case of giant duodenal diverticulum with biliary obstruction caused by mucinous carcinoma of distal common bile duct (CBD), that mimicking Lemmel syndrome.

BACKGROUND: Duodenal injury is an important hollow viscus injury in the abdomen. The study analysed the factors related to the outcome of duodenal injuries presenting to the unit.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Prospectively collected data on a case series involving 23 patients over three years. It involved demographic details, Injury Severity Score, Revised Trauma Score, part of duodenum injured, duodenal injury severity according to the AAST, injury-operation time lag, mode of repair, and the extent of significant associated injuries. A 3-year-old Chow Chow was examined because of a 2-week history of vomiting and anorexia after administration of 200 mg of ibuprofen. Peritoneal effusion and free gas within the peritoneal cavity were observed on radiography of the abdomen. BACKGROUND/AIMS: Indications for surgery in patients with duodenal ulcers have changed radically. Gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) is a complication that can result from duodenal ulcers. From the perspective of organ preservation, gastroduodenostomy (e.g. Jaboulay procedure) is ideal for the treatment of GOO due to duodenal ulcer-induced stricture; however, delayed gastric emptying is frequently observed postoperatively.
