Evaluation of Antimicrobial and Antibiofilm Activity of Eucalyptus urograndis (Clone I144) Pyroligneous Extract on Bovine Mastitis Isolate of Multiple-Drug-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Strains.

Milk is an important agricultural product and is consumed worldwide. However, the dairy sector faces a significant challenge due to bovine mastitis, a common disease that has a substantial impact on the dairy industry. In more severe cases, it leads to the culling of chronically infected cows. Mastitis poses a risk due to the frequent use of antibiotics in treatment, which contributes to the spread of bacteria with antimicrobial resistance. The present study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial and antibiofilm potential of a pyroligneous extract of Eucalyptus urograndis (clone I144) against mul

Eucalyptus kino: a treasure trove of polyphenols eradicating tumors in-vivo by elevating caspase-3 level, inhibiting TGF-β and NF-κb gene expression.

30 secondary polyphenolic metabolites were characterised in Eucalyptus kino methanol extract using HPLC-MS/MS. The antitumor activity of the extract in combination with low level ionising radiation in female mice with solid tumors from inoculated Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells was investigated. Tumor cell-inoculated mice received daily extract doses (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kgBW) with or without a single exposure to 0.25 Gy γ-rays, and cis-platin as a reference anticancer drug. Changes in the tumor volume, oxidative state, levels of caspase-3, TGF-β and Nf-κB were assessed by q-PCR. Surprisingly, a

Protective role of ellagitannins from Eucalyptus citriodora against ethanol-induced gastric ulcer in rats: impact on oxidative stress, inflammation and calcitonin-gene related peptide.

The gastroprotective activity of an ellagitannin-rich fraction obtained from Eucalyptus citriodora (ECF) was investigated against ethanol-induced gastric ulceration in rats. The rats were pretreated with ECF (25, 50 and 100mg/kg) 1h before the administration of absolute ethanol to induce acute gastric ulceration. The gastric lesions were significantly reduced by all doses of ECF. Notably, pre-treatment with ECF (100mg/kg) conferred 99.6% gastroprotection, which is significantly higher than that produced by omeprazole. Moreover, ECF administration markedly increased the mucin content in a dose-

In vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory activity of oenothein B from Eucalyptus leaves and its amelioration mechanism on colitis in mice by regulating fecal microbiota and metabolism.

Nonvolatile extracts from Eucalyptus leaves possess diverse bioactivities; however, their anti-inflammatory potential and key active components remain insufficiently characterized. In this study, we demonstrated that antioxidant polyphenols extracted from Eucalyptus grandis × E. urophylla (EPEGU) using low-temperature continuous phase transformation extraction (LCPTE) exhibited significant anti-inflammatory effects by suppressing the secretion of nitric oxide (NO), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Furthermore, oenothein B (OEB), isolated from E

Direct loading versus chitosan nanoparticles encapsulation of 1,8-cineole and eucalyptus oil in PVA-based nanofibers: Box-Behnken optimization, sustained delivery, antibacterial, and wound healing activities.

Chronic wound healing remains challenging because many dressings fail to maintain long-lasting antimicrobial activity while promoting tissue regeneration. To address this limitation, two natural agents with reported antibacterial and pro-healing potential; 1,8-cineole (CIN) and eucalyptus oil (EU), were incorporated into electrospun poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanofibers (NFs) using two encapsulation levels: direct loading into PVA fibers or dual encapsulation via chitosan nanoparticles (CS NPs) embedded within the PVA matrix. A Box-Behnken design optimized the representative dual system, identi
