Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a specific marker of the prostate cell lineage. 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT is a sensitive and valuable imaging modality used for staging at diagnosis and restaging in cases of recurrence during the follow-up of prostate carcinoma patients. However, increased PSMA uptake can be observed in various malignancies, such as cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, and in several benign conditions, such as angiolipoma. Here, we present a case of a newly diagnosed prostate carcinoma patient with a schwannoma exhib

BACKGROUND: Accurate diagnosis of bone metastases in prostate cancer is essential for staging, prognosis, and treatment. Although PSMA PET/CT is highly effective, complementary imaging is needed to clarify indeterminate lesions. The novel bisphosphonate-based agent [68Ga]Ga-P15-041 shows superior diagnostic accuracy over conventional SPECT imaging, indicating its potential as an auxiliary diagnostic tool. This study explores its role in detecting and assessing prostate cancer bone metastases.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: This prospective study enrolled 35 patients with prostate cancer and skeletal m

Prostate cancer (PCa) is a heterogeneous disease and prevalent malignancy in men, necessitating accurate imaging techniques to facilitate effective diagnosis and management. Recent evidence has demonstrated that [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]FDG) and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted PET tracers positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging can provide complementary biological information, thereby improving diagnostic accuracy and the assessment of lesion heterogeneity in patients with PCa. However, optimal protocols for PSMA/FDG dual-tracer PET/CT and PET/

PURPOSE: We evaluated changes in radiation therapy target volume and acute toxicity using 68Ga-prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) versus 18F-fluciclovine positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography in postprostatectomy patients with biochemical recurrence. We hypothesized that both fluciclovine and PSMA-guided radiation therapy would (1) significantly change pre-PET radiation therapy volumes and (2) show similar toxicity.
METHODS AND MATERIALS: We performed an institutional review board-approved, randomized trial comparing fluciclovine (Arm 1) and PSMA (Arm 2)-guided postpro

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to evaluate the imaging and clinical characteristics of adrenal metastases detected by [68Ga]Ga-PSMA PET/CT in prostate cancer patients, with a focus on diagnostic accuracy and prognostic implications. Specifically, we examined the correlation between adrenal lesion characteristics and prognostic markers, such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels and Gleason scores. This study also assessed the diagnostic performance of PSA, standardized uptake value maximum (SUVmax), and Hounsfield Unit (HU) values in differentiating adrenal metastases from benign adrenal ade

BACKGROUND: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radiopharmaceuticals allow whole-body imaging to detect prostate cancer (PC). Positron emission tomography imaging using gallium-68 (68Ga)-PSMA-11 has been shown to have a favorable safety and tolerability profile and high diagnostic performance. The study evaluates the safety and pharmacokinetics of 68Ga-PSMA-11 in Japanese patients with primary, recurrent, or suspected recurrent prostate cancer.
METHODS: This single arm study enrolled Japanese patients with primary PC (n = 3), suspected recurrent PC following radical prostatecto

OBJECTIVE: Recently, gallium-68-prostate-specific membrane antigen-11 (68Ga-PSMA-11) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has become a key imaging method in prostate carcinoma staging and biochemical progression, with varying sensitivities in different studies (from 40% to 80%). After four years of experience with 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT, we found that it is possible to detect lesions with increased PSMA expression in patients with undetectable prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels after radical prostatectomy. The key questions we wanted to answer were as follows: if those le

To investigate the use of kinetic parameters derived from direct Patlak reconstructions of [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to predict the histological grade of malignancy of the primary tumor of patients with prostate cancer (PCa). Thirteen patients (mean age 66 ± 10 years) with a primary, therapy-naïve PCa (median PSA 9.3 [range: 6.3-130 µg/L]) prior radical prostatectomy, were recruited in this exploratory prospective study. A dynamic whole-body [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT scan was performed for all patients. Measured quantification parameters included

A 72-year-old man with prostate cancer (stage T3b, Gleason score 7) treated by radical prostatectomy was found to have biochemical failure (prostate-specific antigen 8.5 ng/mL) and a suspicious growing nodularity at the left prostate bed on MRI. F-fluorocholine PET/CT failed to demonstrate any site of uptake suggestive of malignancy. A bone scan did exclude bone metastases. Ga-PSMA PET/CT revealed various positive lymph nodes in the supraclavicular, mediastinal, and hilar regions. This was confirmed on F-DCFPyl PET/CT, with the addition of a suspicious right axillary lymph node. Mediastinal bi

Ga prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT is a relatively new and highly sensitive imaging modality used in staging metastatic prostate cancer. We report a case of a 65-year-old man with newly diagnosed prostate carcinoma who had a PSMA PET/CT scan for staging of his disease. A PSMA-avid right pelvic mass was identified anterior to the sacrum. Surgical removal and histopathological examination of this lesion revealed the diagnosis of schwannoma. It is important to be aware that schwannoma may also show avid uptake on PSMA PET/CT scan and may potentially lead to an incorrect diagnosis

We report a case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the chest wall observed in a 94-year-old woman. She noticed appetite loss and general edema a week before admission. The patient was diagnosed as having congestive heart failure due to valvular heart disease on the basis of echocardiographic findings and became symptom-free by treatment with vasodilators and diuretics. However, chest roentgenogram disclosed a extrapleural mass in the left mid-lateral chest. About 2 months after admission, she experienced left lateral chest pain for the first time. The chest CT scan revealed a 5 x 5 x 2 cm m

Valvular lesions in the acute phase of Kawasaki disease were studied in 19 children. The patients were intensively observed by color flow Doppler every day from the day of hospitalization up to 12 days after the onset of the disease and 2 or more times a week thereafter, for up to 28 days. Mitral regurgitation (MR) was found in 9 patients (47%) and tricuspid regurgitation (TR) in 10 (53%). MRs were of transient type and confirmed from 7.5 +/- 1.6 (mean +/- standard deviation) to 13.1 +/- 6.5 days after the onset of the disease. Both types of valvular regurgitation were mild. The direction of r

PURPOSE: Intermediate-risk (IR) prostatic adenocarcinoma is an heterogeneous subgroup of prostate cancer with discrepant progression and prognosis. These tumors can be subclassified based on the ISUP (International Society of Urology Pathology) score into favorable (ISUP 2) and unfavorable (ISUP 3) IR prostate cancer. Positron Emission Tomography / Computed Tomography (PET/CT) imaging targeting PSMA (Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen) is recommended for the assessment of high-risk prostate cancers. On the other hand, GRPR (Gastrin-Releasing Peptide Receptor) is over-expressed in low-risk pros

PURPOSE: Previous studies have demonstrated an association between PSMA-PET SUVmax and poorer survival outcomes in patients with mCRPC. However, limited data are available in mHSPC. We aim to investigate the relationship between baseline PSMA-PET SUVmax and rPFS in patients with mHSPC.
METHODS: The optimal SUVmax cut-off for rPFS was determined using Harrell's C-index. Baseline characteristics were compared using the χ² test between the groups and survival analyses for rPFS were performed.
RESULTS: Data from 165 patients were retrospectively analyzed, with a median follow-up of 44 months (mo

PURPOSE: The International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grading of prostate cancer (PCa) is a crucial factor in the management and treatment planning for PCa patients. An accurate and non-invasive assessment of the ISUP grading group could significantly improve biopsy decisions and treatment planning. The use of PSMA-PET/CT radiomics for predicting ISUP has not been widely studied. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT radiomics in predicting the ISUP grading of primary PCa.
METHODS: This study included 415 PCa patients who underwent 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT s
